Mueller’s investigation of Trump ‘needs to conclude,’ Sessions says
The Washington Times ^

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Thursday that an ongoing probe into President Trump “needs to conclude” in order to let him focus on North Korea, the U.S.-Mexico border and other world negotiations.

Mr. Sessions also said he expects the Justice Department inspector general to finish his investigation into the department’s and FBI’s handling of investigations into Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election in a “few weeks,” saying that will provide more information for decisions on whether there was wrongdoing.

These can't just be dismissed in a trade for dropping a bogus investigation on the other side, or Democrats will always concoct an opposition charge to sweep away their own crime.

Re: Post 73

That's a very good post in it's entirety.

Your rationale and reasoning are right on the money - for a sane world where patriotism, loyalty, honor, respect for the law and the Constitution matter more than greed for power and wealth among the ruling class.

But those are not the prevailing values with much of America today - especially within the DC beltway and among the left throughout the country.

Do you really think we will ever see Obama, Hillary, Lynch, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Washerman-Shultz or any of the other criminals who abused their power and position to consolodate power for democrats and rig the election for Hillary be charged and convicted of their crimes?

I would place the odds of maybe 1 out of 100 that one or two low ranked people might face some minor charges but almost certainly none of the higher ups will ever atone for their crimes..

Yes he certainly did, but I am sure that Trump wanted to reward what he thought was loyalty. I often thought how “courageous” Jeff Sessions was to stand by Trump and just assumed that Sessions was catching a lot of heat from the establishment for not supporting Rubio or Jeb.

Who would guess that Sessions would be such a two-faced, back stabbing scoundrel? The thought never crossed my mind and probably not Trumps either.

Who knew that Sessions couldn’t walk and chew gum at the same time? ??? In his calling for an end of the Mueller witch hunt do you think he’s been sandbagging us??? I’ve noticed him doing that on issues when he was a Senator.....

“Trust Sessions”

Darn right. Can’t wait until the hammer begins falling and all the crying ends in utter shock.

There’s a plan in place and it’s being followed. Later it will be studied as a momentous time in this Republic’s history.

I agree that Trump is a wonderful president and I fully support him and his agenda.

And it’s for this reason that I want him to forget about the Senate or anyone else and start exercising his presidential muscle and to demand that his DOJ start following the laws of the land.

The public is sick and tired of there being one set of rules for the elites in this country and another set of rules for the rest of us.

With the heads of these Congressional hearings, calling on President Trump to order the DOJ and FBI to turn over everything they’ve got on these investigations, excluding of course classified information, it gives the President a perfect opportunity to lay down an ultimatum to cooperate with Congress or lose their jobs.

Yep. That’s why the FReeperthons are taking longer to finish.

It's become like painting the Brooklyn Bridge. As soon as it's finished, it's time to start again.

Grassley recently reiterated his vow not to confirm a replacement for Sessions. The swamp doesn’t want to drain the swamp, obviously.

It’s really getting to the point where the anti-Sessions mood in here is so all-prevailing that it’s hardly worth discussing other aspects of what he might be up to, but here goes:

Why now? What does Sessions hope to achieve by speaking out now? He’s recused himself from the Mueller investigation, so what’s he up to?

Well, maybe he’s whipping up the press to defend Mueller yet again while in the bargain getting the press to demand both investigation of collusion and consequences for colluding. After a week or so of press demands, IG Horowitz comes out with an extensive report documenting tons of collusion...by Democrats and the Obama Administration.

Sessions then would have the press right where he wants them, and would promise to pursue indictments against all concerned, just as they demanded.

If Horowitz’s report isn’t issued during the first week in May, I’ll reconsider all this, but I think it will be and it will be a bombshell. Maybe then, when people here see the extensive investigative work that’s been going on for nearly a year now, and longer in the case of the email and Clinton foundation matters, they’ll finally decide that Sessions is up to the job after all.

Question for the doubters: If the above happens, will it change your view of the man? And if not, why not?

That's just what I thought. Mueller has probably overstepped, and this time, a lot more Deep State could go down with him. I sure hope Judge Kimba Wood is one of those to lose her job.
