I almost feel sorry (almost) for the people in states and cities like California, Chicago and all the others that are billions and billions of dollars underwater in the their government pension obligations. This problem will get worse and worse and along with it every type of tax, fine, fee, duty, penalty etc. will continue to increase to a suffocating rate in a losing attempt to deal with it. It will be a nightmare long before the inevitable happens, the day of reckoning appears and the laws of economic gravity finally come crashing home.

Years ago, Jesse Jackson opined that there are a lot of pensions out there with a lot of money in them and somehow all that money needs to be accessed.

Sounds like it has been done.

As the old saying goes, “People get the government they deserve.”
