during a Tuesday interview with SiriusXM hosts Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak on Breitbart News Tonight. Mansour asked Cruz, Would you be supportive of President Trump if he ran for reelection in 2020?
Cruz replied, I certainly assume so. I was supportive of and campaigned for President Trump in 2016, and I am very encouraged with the substantive policy victories we are getting, whether it is an historic tax cut bill, whether it is regulatory reform thats unleashing jobs, whether it is repealing the Obamacare individual mandate which I led the fight to do in the United States Senate whether it is nominating and confirming strong constitutionalists to the courts. On all of those fights Ive been working to lead the battle. Im content to continue working to lead that battle and defend our freedoms and defend the Constitution.

During the 2016 election, Cruz initially opted against endorsing Trump after Trump secured the Republican Partys nomination following a heated primary race that pitted the Texas senator against the New York real estate mogul. Republican convention goers booed Cruz during his speech at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, when he advised them to vote your conscience. Two months later, he endorsed Trump and assisted his presidential campaign.
Never Trump media figures lamented Cruzs support for Trumps campaign. Glenn Beck, a fervent Cruz supporter during the 2016 primary, described himself as profoundly sad following Cruzs endorsement of Trump, whom Beck strongly opposed. Beck later described America as a petulant child worthy of divine punishment for making the wrong choice in nominating Trump.
Since the election, Cruz has largely supported Trumps policies and agenda

I agree.
“Again, you confirm my analysis of Cruz-haters.”
Your analysis doesn’t mean shit around here. Take it to somebody who cares what you think.
And that’s certainly not the Free Republic old guard.
I agree.
And yet you continue to reply ...
His change, his support of the Trump agenda, and his votes since Trump won.
All that has helped.
I like that, as should you.
Just pointing out facts, for you.
Here’s how your Senators voted:

Bwahahahahahahaha!!!
Even that piece of crap Manchin, that I’m trying to get rid of, voted better:

But you go ahead and keep on puking up your bile and vitriol. It tells the rest of us what sort of person you are.
Have a lovely day.
I have no problem with Trump supporters. Trump was my second choice in the 2016 primaries, and an easy choice in the general.
This bitter, irrational, vitriolic Cruz-hate, though, is evil and destructive.
I believe that We are in a fight for the soul and existence of our country.
On that, we shouldn’t do anything but unite.
Tearing at each other doesn’t help a whole lot.
Exactly.
If I’ve said this to you prior to this I apologize Mariner.
If we had all spent roughly 2.5 hours supporting Trump in 2016, Hillary Clinton would be president and making all the opposite moves Trump has so far in his presidency.
Ted spent about 1.5 hours making calls for Trump one day. On the fourth of November, 2016, he made two speeches where he actually endorse Trump by name. Since he was not the keynote speaker (Pence was), I’d estimate his talking time to be 15-30 minutes. Could have been less and could have been more. I’m giving him 30 minutes for this point I’m making.
1.5 hours making phone calls, and 1 hour of speech time works out to 2.5 hours of dedicated Cruz effort post Convention, where he refused to endorse Trump.
You, I, and every other FReeper are almost catatonic at the thought of what would be happening now if Hillary had been elected in 2016.
We felt that way going in November 2016. It was close. It was deemed to be close all the way along. PredictIt had about an 85 to 15% spread, Hillary in the lead on the gambling front.
We were all talking up Trump as best we could. Some folks expressed doubts, and we tried to move them in the direction of Trusting Trump. We did all we could
I spend hundreds of hours here trying to move folks toward Trump. Others worked for campaigns.
The RNC folks did their best to quell support for Trump here. The NeverTrumpers did.
One way or another, we were all in.
Ted, he spent 2.5 hours from the Convention until election day. I can’t imagine not doing something, anything to help Trump.
I thank God every morning when I wake up that Trump is our President.
I honestly wonder what Ted does. Up until election day 2016, it didn’t really matter to him. Does it now? Really?
Amen!
“Trump was my second choice in the 2016 primaries, and an easy choice in the general.”
There we go.
An original Cruz supporter.
I thought you had all been expunged.
I’m sure we’ll see you and Ted again, on the opposite side of Trump in 2020.
Crazy never sleeps.
Who's tearing at whom, here?
Any guy that spends only 2.5 hours to thwart a victory by Hillary Clinton, is not your friend ideologically.
Yes, you and your buddies certainly demonstrate that fact. Your bitter, bilious, monomaniacal hate will destroy your minds, your hearts, and your souls.
Northmountain was on the other side during those fights.
What has any of that got to do with Ted Cruz only spending about 2.5 hours between the convention and election day supporting Trump to prevent Hillary Clinton from being president?
Dead Cruz is not your ideological friend.
If he could take a pass on not defeating Hillary, what does that tell you? Nothing?
“Your bitter, bilious, monomaniacal hate will destroy your minds, your hearts, and your souls. “
Not until we rid the party of Ted Cruz and his supporters.
You too Meg33.
