Governor Andrew Cuomo plans to ban single-use plastic bags, though he previously blocked a 2017 plan to charge New York City shoppers 5-cents for paper and plastic bags at stores.
He introduced a bill Monday that would ban plastic carryout bags from any point of sale in the state. Garment bags, trash bags and bags used to wrap food such as fruit and sliced meats would be exempt from the bill. If passed, it would go into effect on New Year's Day of 2019.

They like most water bottles are made of Re-RECYCLED plastic in the first place, which is why they have to double bag heavy stuff like a half gallon of milk.
I can make my own, have, have heavy duty plastic reinforced ones I bought for a $1 CAN’T make them that cheap, and a thermo 1 for summer months I put those re-freeze things in. Much better than that crap from the store. I don’t need milk or laundry soap bagged. Most can be thrown in the washer to eliminate contaminations, and let drip dry.
What few store bags I get, get used in bathroom trash cans or as scrap bags when I cook to take out to the big garbage can so the house doesn’t smell of rotted food.
He’d do better enviro wise to ban disposable diapers. They take 500 yrs to decompose. Now you are adding in Adult diapers.
No, there are no exceptions, however we will be taxed to buy them for poor folks.
That’s what they did in Cali. I can always tell the EBT people because they don’t bother to bring their own bags. The stores have to give them bags. Everyone else carries their own or has to pay 10-15 cents for them.
Or order groceries thru amazon or Walmart that require cardboard boxes, don't the Koch brothers make them? Odd
