Right was praising him, too. He deserved praise. Leftists might have been praising him extra hard because he was black, but rightists had similar reasons, to show they aren’t racist, as if that would convince leftists.
But whatever the motives, he deserved praise. He took initiative and fought, instead of hiding in place. He used his noodle, and waited ‘til psycho-boy was reloading for another salvo to make his move, minimizing the risks to himself and others. He was modest, instead of jumping in front of the cameras and making speeches and making it all about him.
The fact that he went to church with his mother and the fact that he is black are big pluses, because that helps sooth, if not heal, the big divide that’s threatening America’s internal cohesion. Trump ought to invite him to the White House sometime soon.
I saw him on the news. Humble guy, he said people are saying I’m a hero but really, I was just trying to save myself, I thought ‘he’s going to have to work for this kill’. And I’m sure that’s so true, he wasn’t thinking of others, who would at that point. He was in survival mode but so humble to say that. I like him. ;D
