SAGINAW, Mich. Michigan Republican John James is officially in the senate primary race.
Today he filed petition signatures to qualify.
Afterwards, James toured general machine services in Saginaw.
That's a manufacturing business.
The West Point graduate and army combat veteran operates a family business.
He believes that experience will help him lead the state saying he has a passion for service.
Its the same reason I came back to Michigan when theres area of home that look worse than the combat zone Im flying in. Its the same reason Im going to Washington now to fight four our condition, to fight for Michiganders and to fight for opportunities for our future, said James.
James will face two other republican primary candidates.
If he wins, he will then face an incumbent Democrat Debbie Stabenow.

Will Mitch “The Bitch” McConnell support him?
If he’s a threat to the Uniparty, he’s good as gone. The GOP has a way of snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.
John James faces an uphill fight against Debbie Stabenow.
This guy is awsome.
The MAGA message resonates well aith Michiganders.
The jobs that were lost to outsourcing to mexico and china are astounding. In the span of several years, Michigan was turned into an industral ghost town.
And those formerly employed people didn’t just go away either. The few taxpayers left picked up the bill, while all of the companies that hopped on the communist slave labor train dumped their employees on state welfare and unemployment.
But they were all evil union employees, so that’s okay, even if most of them weren’t union employees.
I expect the free traitors to show up and school all of us deplorables about how we just refuse to work for chinese wages, and how we need to embrace the fact that we’re now inferior to the communist chinese and socialist mexicans.
There’s a large contingent of people in business that are still pissed off over the fact that Lincoln abolished slavery.
You were on the other thread for who is likely the establishment choice (if they are even paying attention to this race).
I knew that thread would probably draw more attention to the race than the one about the better candidate.
This guy has the “cool” factor...GOP candidates aren’t normally cool - I think he may even appeal to younger voters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSkVoclByB0 He doesn’t come across as a typical Washington politician and would be a great contrast to Debbie Stabenow if he raises the money to be seen and heard in order to compete with her.
But above that, he’s well spoken, intelligent, and conservative and can articulate the conservative message simply and succinctly - he’s a packet deal - both the best candidate and the best conservative running.
OMG!!! I must confess; I’m a racist. This black guy is my candidate against the two honky crackers.
Yup.
You can’t MAGA with the Republican Party as is.
If they can’t win, they’ll help the Democrat.
Prayers to John James!!!
Hope he appears with President Trump at next Saturday’s rally! Love to see him “don” a MAGA hat.
What I don’t understand is why Trump is backing Schuette instead of James.
I wish I still lived in Michigan so I could vote for this guy.
Schuette has name recognition. But youre right. This guy would be much better.
Is he a true Republican or an antiAmerica Republican?
Isn’t Stabenow soon to be illegal in England?
You guys got your races mixed up. AG Bill Schuette is running for Governor. James is running for Senator.
Oh, right! Duh, now you know why I rarely post anymore ;-)
You might be remembering that when Bill Schuette was a Congressman, he actually did run against Carl Levin for the Senate way back in 1990, but sadly lost.
“As is” is getting pretty old...hence, why electing younger folks like this to take over the mantel if leadership is important - gaining the seat is important, but getting the future and better leadership is place is also important.
He and Josh Hawley would be great additions to the caucus.
This guy could be a future President.
