The New York Times and a third rate reporter named Maggie Haberman, known as a Crooked H flunkie who I don’t speak to and have nothing to do with, are going out of their way to destroy Michael Cohen and his relationship with me in the hope that he will “flip.” They use....
....non-existent “sources” and a drunk/drugged up loser who hates Michael, a fine person with a wonderful family. Michael is a businessman for his own account/lawyer who I have always liked & respected. Most people will flip if the Government lets them out of trouble, even if....
....it means lying or making up stories. Sorry, I don’t see Michael doing that despite the horrible Witch Hunt and the dishonest media!

And yet time and time again, Trump came back to Haberman. He granted her at least a dozen news-making interviews, just counting the ones that were on the record.
"I think the Susan Rice thing is a massive story," the president said. "I think it's a massive, massive story. All over the world. I mean, other than The New York Times." Without skipping a beat, Haberman fired back: "We've written about it twice."
This is what I was talking about last night. When fake news gets published about a Trump friend or loyalist, Trump fires back with both barrels. Predictably, he was savage in his defense of Cohen and disdain for and denunciation of the NYT.
When it comes to the WaPo story about Sessions and Rosenstein, crickets from Trump.

It has never been Session’s job to protect an ethically challenged President and his sleazy friends from themselves.
The WaPo story was true. Otherwise Trump would have slapped them around for fake news; that is his MO.
Sessions is the ethically challenged one in this equation. He’s been lavish in his praise of pro-Hillary Rosenstein.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Friday went off-script during a speech to praise Rod Rosenstein shortly before the release of a GOP-authored memo reportedly targeting the deputy attorney general. During his remarks at a Department of Justice event on sex-trafficking issues, Sessions thanked Rosenstein and Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand, saying, “Those two—Rod and Rachel—are Harvard graduates, they’re experienced lawyers. Rod had 27 years in the department. Rachel’s had a number of years in the department previously and so they both represent the kind of quality and leadership that we want in the department.” President Trump has reportedly viewed the memo—even before ever reading it—as a way to build a public argument against Rosenstein’s handling of the Russia probe.

You should be thankful Trump isn’t Cruz, too. While Trump was packing tens of thousands of enthusiastic supporters into arenas, Cruz was invading small diners and interrupting people’s breakfast so as to have someone, anyone, to talk to. Hillary would have beaten Cruz like a rented mule.
No shock that you’re delighted with the Sessions-Rosenstein bromance. Anything to undermine Trump.
