I live in Texas. This never happens in Texas.
If it did, you’d see a bunch a dead teens lying on the ground next to said cars. With gunshot wounds to the teens.
I had a friend in Seattle back in the early 80’s that had a Porsche 924. One day somebody went down the street he was parked on bashing people’s windshields with a baseball bat. He was an avid skier and the front of his car was really badly rock chipped. So he took a single swing at it with a baseball bat before reporting the damage. Got it fixed for free.
Funny thing is he now lives in a multi million dollar house...
What I love about Texas is that everyone there of any color or creed would expect that. I think the minorities in Texas would especially expect that. Texas takes the racial lines and makes them into a figure 8 race track.
Yes. In Texas you can shoot people who are on your property without permission, right?
Even in the cowboy state where I live, you can’t shoot unless the trespasser poses a “threat”.
What chaps me is that if some scumbag comes through my window, and I chase him back out, I have to trust that he’s not planning another charge, that he isn’t grabbing an accomplice to bust back in again, and that he isn’t about to wheel around and throw a parting shot in my face.
He can walk calmly away to face little but a breaking-and-entering charge, likely watered down to trespassing anyway.
Bullshoot, is what I say.
There was a nerdowell from UTA in Arlington TX doing bath salts or some other drug of choice recently. He found his way to a large new car dealership after hours. He was seen on video jumping on new cars and kicking in grills and such. Local PD showed up and when he acted violent towards the officer, they perforated him.
Last I heard the officer was fired and procecuted for shooting the student yute.
Local news showed the guy vandalizing the cars. Preferred class of citizen, I guess.
