Nunes, Gowdy And Goodlatte Go Nuclear After Comey Memos Released
Long Room ^ | 4-20-2018

Posted on 04/20/2018 10:29:06 AM PDT by blam

Facing an imminent Congressional subpoena, the Department of Justice finally turned over James Comey's now-infamous memos Thursday night - which were promptly leaked and published by AP.

We already know that Comey's leak to the press was illegal - as the FBI's chief FOIA officer, David Hardy, gave a sworn declaration to Judicial Watch in which he says that all seven of Comey's memos were classified at the time they were written, and they remain classified.

James - Comey - Memos - Compelling - Case

Perhaps most disturbing is that James Comey's memos do not make a compelling case for obstruction whatsoever - which Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein (who Comey said "I didn't have confidence" in), used to launch the special counsel investigation headed by former FBI Director Robert Mueller.

In response to the Comey memos, Congressional Committee chairs Devin Nunes (R-CA), Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and Trey Gowdy (R-SC) fired off a scathing rebuke, in which they made it abundantly clear that the Mueller investigation is a farce based on yet another example of the FBI using a flimsy document to launch a politically motivated investigation.

"These memos are significant for both what is in them and what is not," begins the joint statement, which goes on to completely dress down the FBI and James Comey:

Former - Director - Comey - Memos - President

Former Director Comey's memos show the President made clear he wanted allegations of collusion, coordination, and conspiracy between his campaign and Russia fully investigated.

The memos also made clear the ‘cloud’ President Trump wanted lifted was not the Russian interference in the 2016 election cloud, rather it was the salacious, unsubstantiated allegations related to personal conduct leveled in the dossier.

A sternly worded letter?!
No member of the political elite will face real consequences. That’s no how things are done in the uniparty.

A harshly worded letter is not my idea of “going nuclear” — Everyone responsible for malfeasance in the DOJ and FBI needs to be fired and prosecuted.

Did Nunes ever get the unredacted FISA warrant?

The people ie We The People will not tolerate anything but prosecution and justice. This thing has gone on too long to quit.

The Rosenstein/Mueller strategy of dragging this investigation out forever may not work out quite so well as they planned. More and more information is surfacing, none of it helpful to Mueller. Granted, the Uniparty’s idea of getting tough is writing a letter. Still, Mueller is losing his momentum and, if only by increments, his support.

Now Giuliani is talking about ending the witch hunt “for the good of the country.” There may be a light at the end of the tunnel at long last. (Too late for Flynn, and it’s taken a huge toll on Trump too. Still, it might actually one day end. That’s hopeful.)

Until they're standing at the foot of a lamppost.

Correct.

The Clinton family has enough dirt on the Washington establishment to bring the entire cabel down if they decide to go nuclear...which they will, if it looks as if they're becoming targets.

I predict James Clapper will become the official scapegoat of the investigation and everyone above him will get a pass.

We'll see.

No, they are competent in making themselves, their families and their friends rich. Rather than fools, I’d make them as criminals.

Interesting how this website is including keywords in the body of the article, likely for SEO purposes. I wonder if that works? Seems pretty clever.

They are setting the table. Next up will be a request by these committee chairmen to Rod Rosenstein to appear before them to justify appointing a special counsel based on this work of fantasy. Mueller is about to be shut down in epic fashion.

Clapper seems protected so far.

Comey and McCabe are the scapegoats. For example this first OIG referral is about McCabe leaking information about the Clinton Foundation investigation being stopped because of the election.

The Negative Freeper Brigade needs to recall that if it wasn’t for Nenes etc. and their demand letters, we wouldn’t even HAVE the Comey memos.

Geeze people, knock off the rock throwing, for crying out loud. This will all lead to the end of the Mueller witch hunt. Rapidly.

This place has become infested with negative losers and their whiny bitchings.

Is that more searing than, say, the "comfy chair" (with reference to Monty Python's Spanish Inquisition)?
