An inspector for the city of Jacksonville, Florida has been suspended for her behavior after citing the owner of Jaguar Power Sports for flying military flags on a rooftop display.
The flags were apparently in violation of code.
But it was the behavior of the inspector, Melinda Power, that got her in hot water with the mayor's office and led to her suspension.
A customer, a wounded warrior, overheard her citing the owner and objected. Her response was that he did nothing for this country.

Follow up to yesterdays story. I did a search and nothing turned up. So, apparently her citing them was correct but her comments were offensive so, suspension. With pay? A letter in her records? Re-instatement with an apology from the city for suspending her? Seems to me, as I recall, Jacksonville is a military town. I was on two different ships out of Mayport/Jax Beach back in the day.

But Mrs. Power not only saw an opportunity to wield power, she also decided to slap down one of the little people who dared challenge her authority I wonder what "Mr. Power" has to say about all this, or is that not allowed in that family?

Looking at her picture, I hate broads like this. My BIL is an OK teacher. He went to the capital for a show of solidarity during their walkout. The men were gathered together wanting to sign the papers and get back to work, but he said those white middle aged broads were all militant and scary. I hate broads like these.
BTW, from the article: Even if there was an ordnance against flying the military flags - and apparently there was one, or an ordnance
There probably is an ordinance against ordnance.

Many cities in FL use LE personnel as code enforcement. Wonder if thats true here?

I make that mistake all the time. That said, my older brother Senior Chief (HTCS) retired lives in Jax, FL.... LOTS of military retirees there. Also located there is Mayport Naval Station where he served twice and deployed from once to the Mediterranean; also Blount Island Command for the Maritime Preposition Ships Program and NAS Cecil Field (Auxiliary Airfield) in Green Cove Springs. The inspector is an idiot.

Suspended, huh? So she, in essence, is on a paid vacation until the heat’s off.
