Backfire: Plurality Now Want James Comey Prosecuted For Leaks
Bereitbart ^ | 4-17-2018 | John Nolte

The latest polling from Rasmussen Reports (one of the most reliable in 2016) shows a huge slide in support for James Comey, the disgraced former head of the FBI. A plurality of 46 percent now want to see him prosecuted for leaking to the media. While President Trump’s job approval rating continues to climb in both the Rasmussen daily tracking poll (49 percent approval) and in the Real Clear Politics poll of polls, in the wake of his public relations blitz, Comey’s numbers have taken a steep dive.

As far as the job he did as FBI director, Rasmussen discovered that “just 14% of Likely U.S. Voters believe that Comey was a better FBI director than most of those who held the job before him. Thirty-eight percent (38%) say he did a worse job this his predecessors, while nearly as many (35%) rate his job performance as about the same as theirs.”

Even those who “strongly disapprove” of Trump are not big fans of Comey, with only 21 percent of that particular group giving him credit as a better FBI director than his predecessors.

Comey has admitted to leaking details of his classified conversations with Trump to the media through an intermediary. Last June, only 41 percent wanted to see him prosecuted for this. That number has now jumped to a near-majority and clear plurality of 46 percent.

In worse news for Comey, his base of support among those who do not want to see him prosecuted has plummeted -13 points, from 47 percent in June to just 34 percent today.

In June, Comey was above water by six points on the issue of prosecution, 47 percent to 41 percent.

Today he is upside down -12 points, 34 percent to 46 percent — a shift of 18 points against him.

Help me understand HOW THE HELL an OPINION POLL bears on the prosecution of alleged - but rather well documented - CRIMES regardless of WHO COMMITTED THEM??

Easy. We have been in the grips of a Mediacracy for 5-6 decades. The media have selected who can run, what the issues are, and what are scandals and what are not.

Watergate was a media coup.

The two Democrat, low life, drinking wine on the TV air, Winos, James Comey & Stephen Colbert, sipped their wine hidden in paper cups....and, ranted, raved, wise cracked, felt so full of themselves....thinking millions & millions of Americans were hanging on every word that surfaced from their demented mouths and twisted brains.

Colbert was so brash, full of his massive ego, bragging on a twitter rant....that he will outdo the ABC, George Stephenopoulos, Comey interview, Monday evening...which attracted a mighty, paltry audience of viewers. No one cares!!!

I suspect this Comey/Colbert caper will fail short of the Colbert dreams of “The Whole World is Watching” Twitter gem he posted......since when I scooted & scanned around the news stories on the web, this farce of theirs....very, and, I mean very few folks commented one way or the other, which clearly signifies, no one out there in TV land cares about either Comey or Colbert!!! We shall soon see the TV viewer numbers in the morning or, by tomorrow afternoon. I predict little interest and little TV viewers tuned in at all. The ABC numbers of 9.7 million folks watching (about 3% of the USA population) is the high point for Comey. His fifteen minutes of fame are now swirling around the toilet bowl, flushing down at lightening speed. So much for the two “Winos” in the middle of the night.

His audacity in doing a book tour is unreal.
In a just world, he would use his book advance for legal fees and lose his house. (And be hanged, but I would settle for prison.)

The only opinions that matter are those of Sessions and his boss.

Polls are not appropriate for everything. A poll about reducing the gravitational constant might be skewed according to age and infirmity, but it would be quite meaningless.

I think you’re missing the point here.....what this does is show that the “full-court-press” propaganda campaign by the “Progressives” and media is failing miserably.

Comey claimed the memos weren’t classified.

Go back to July 2017

Comey took government documents from a government computer.

Comey's "friend" from academia received the government documents from Comey, and the "friend" gave the stolen government documents to the media, or at the very least read the documents to a reporter on the phone.

The media dutifully published the contents of the documents.

The "friend" morphs into Comey's personal attorney to seal off any additional information, based on attorney-client privilege.

The release of documents (or at least the content of the documents) led to appointing an old Comey cohort (Mueller) as Special Counsel to investigate the President with an unlimited staff, unlimited budget, and seemingly unlimited scope. The unwritten intent if Mueller's scope is to provide data for oppo research for the 2018 and 2020 elections, and to act as the basis for impeachment, and no other legal purpose.

Questions:
Why isn't Comey under arrest?

Was Comey's "friend" actually Comey's attorney at the time of the exchange of documents to the media?

Based on the timing, can the DoJ pierce the attorney-client privilege since none existed when the current attorney was simply Comey's "friend" according to Comey's testimony in front of Congress?

Why hasn't Comey and his "friend" had their homes, offices, cars, cabins, vacation homes, and recent hotel rooms raided by the FIBs, and take into evidence every phone, cell phone computer, server, tablet, smart-phone, calendar, every scrap of paper, and diaries?

The political will to prosecute in this environment...(is lacking).

Bravo1 The two of you, Dick in #2 above and you in this post, have presented the issue succinctly.

Extremely enlightening images. Thanks for sharing with me.

Probably explains a great deal as to why Sessions has been an unmitigated disaster as AG!!!

Just keep hoping that somehow all the obvious guilty parties start paying for the myriad of documented crimes that have been laid out.

Deadlines must be enforced with subpoenas and raids need to be executed against the properties of DEEP STATE ACTORS!!!

I just wish President Trump could conduct a mass firing of Sessions, Rosenstein, Wray, and especially MULE FACE!!!

I’d like to believe the majority of the electorate/people would enthusiastically support such drastic, yet necessary, action.
