Israeli officials cited in a Ynetnews report characterized the missile strike on Friday by the US, the UK, and France on suspected chemical weapons facilities in Syria as a failure.
Multiple Israeli government and military sources suggested the strike was not effective in hurting Syria's ability to conduct chemical attacks.
These officials also criticized President Donald Trump's talking about the strike beforehand.
The latest strike most likely didn't change anything on the battlefield in Syria, and it's hard to know how much of the chemical weapons stockpile it hit.

Intelligence sharing? Cool. We share intel with the freaking Belgians.
The Israelis look to their own interests. That's completely fine -- it's what any nation should do. But I'm not going to pretend that Israel is a great friend of ours and I'm not going to be called a Nazi for not pretending.
In what was does Israeli intelligence benefit from an article like this? Answer: It doesn’t. As numerous posters have noted, the site is hardly pro-administration.
Be careful with Haaretz. It has become very far left.
Yep that’s it. Because we don’t support another welfare leech we be Nazis.
Not at all surprising. It’s a win win for leftist Jews.
If it was all for show would 10 missiles not have done the job? 15? 20? 30?
They fired 103 cruise missiles and hit three targets, none of which appear to have been of any value.
The attack might have been just a big bluff but I suspect the people being conned are the US people, not Russia, the Chinese or anyone who is paying attention.

I wasn't aware that our objective was to destroy Assad's chemical weapons capability. If it was, I suspect we failed. My impression was that our objective was to send a message. We did send a message, whether strong enough, we'll see. Personally, if we're going to make the threat, establish a red line so to speak, we should either destroy his capabilities in totality, or confine ourselves to non military solutions. Which no, won't be totally effective.
I would have settled for degrading their capabilities somewhat, thereby proving that Assad and Russia lied to Barry and Lurch, because the weapons were there to degrade. Just lobbing a few missiles in their general direction is not enough of a “message” imho.

That is informative and interesting. Thanks.
Bezos got his grimy fingers in BI, eh? He’s such a twirp.
Bezos is a CIA kid, his father was CIA. He came out groomed by DE Shaw in Manhattan to start his online book sales in about 1994. He never made a profit until 2011 and then just barely and not all quarters. Suddenly, he gets a CIA contract in 2012 for $600M for ‘Cloud Services’ and he’s instructed to use about $100M of it to buy the bankrupt failing Wash Post which is now CIA stooge media.
Bezos never sold enough of anything to be worth today about $100B, B as in Billion. He never earned it. It’s all Wall St. paper meaning he’s a stooge. Now he gets to trade farts with the Bilderbergs and such rot.
Don’t get me started on the punk known as Suckerberg.

So “it’s hard to know much”, yet they KNOW it “failed”.

This was my thinking. Trump had to do something to prove he means what he says, but it didn't have to be effective. It had to look like he took the problem seriously, and it had to serve as a warning, but it absolutely needed to be measured so as to not provoke the Russians into doing something stupid.
It's political drama, and that was what it was intended to be.
That is a clever way to put it.
Exactly my thinking.
Israel keeps trying to bring these issues up and issues warnings to the rest of us that Iran seeks to destroy not only them but, eventually, us as well.
So we shouldnt just brush off their so-called fake news or trying to drag us into THEIR conflict as THEIR conflict is, truly our conflict as well, despite our denial.
I have long regarded Iran as a serious threat. Fanatical religious nut-jobs with nuclear missiles? Are you F***ing kidding me?
M.A.D. (Mutually Assured Destruction) would work with the Soviets because despite being evil, they weren't insane. Letting a psychotic group of people like Iran's religious leadership get their hands on weapons of mass murder, is simply insane.
We should have beaten the sh*t out of Iran in 1979, and the idea of smashing it has only become more sensible with each passing year.
Israel is right. Iran is just as serious of a threat to the United States.

It’s been explained on almost every post since it happened.
