PHILADELPHIA (AP) A Southwest Airlines jet made an emergency landing at Philadelphia's airport Tuesday with part of the covering from its left engine ripped off and a window damaged.
Passengers walked off the 737 plane onto the tarmac at the airport. It wasn't immediately known if anyone on board was injured. Southwest Airlines said there were 143 passengers and five crewmembers on board.

If the engine don’t work it is....................
It was an experience I don't want to repeat...
One passenger, a woman, was partially was drawn out towards the out of the plane was pulled back in by other passengers,” he said in a phone interview with NBC10.

Yea. The only possible fuselage damage I see is the white spec under the "W" in the "Southwest" logo.
“When Window Breaks “
If they’d just use better cabin filters, folks wouldn’t be inclined to mess with the windows in order to smoke.
The pilots earned their money today. Glad the airplane landed safely.
Are those the only choices? :-) I was just shopping for tickets on SW last night.
Window gone
Thanks for the photos!
Yikes!!! Not fun.
I was on a SWA Flight once from DFW to AUS. I try to get an Emergency Exit row seat when I fly because there is Extra leg room in those rows.
We get airborne and the Cabin Crew starts beverage service and while I wait My turn I look out the window at the wing and notice several screws are backing out of a panel outside the window. They were not loose when We started the Flight! I know for sure because I always look for things like that when I fly. (Dad worked for AA and I’ve been on planes since I was a Baby) so the Flight Attendant offers Me a beverage and I order 2 double Rum & Cokes telling Her I know that the Service will be one pass down the Cabin and then the trash run on the way back. I get My drinks and go right back to eyeballing the Screws in the Wing for the rest of the Flight. They stay in the same place, Thank God!!!
We land in AUS and I wait till everybody else is disembarked. The FA that served My drinks came by telling Me the was the end of service for this plane Tonight.
I said “I know but I’ve been watching these screws out on the wing backing out during Our Flight and thought that I would tell the Crew after landing.”
She looks out the window and asks “Why didn’t You say anything sooner?”
I replied that We were already halfway to AUS and I didn’t want to cause a panic because there was nothing Anybody could have done anyway and that She might want to tell the Flight Engineer about it.
She Thanked Me and “I’ll tell Him right now.
Containment failure. FAA will not be pleased. SW better get ready to dump all maintenance records from the day they took ownership of that plane/engine.
So much for the theory that over wing seating is the safest place on the plane. :(
We know CNN won’t tell us the truth... might not even cover the story.
I always take an aisle seat next to two of the fattest people I can find. That way if the window blows out, one of the fat people will plug the hole, and I'll be safe.
Now THAT is positive thinking!
