Government forces and Russian troops have been deployed in Douma, which is now controlled by the Syrian government. Opposition activists have said the troops might have removed any evidence of chemical weapons' use...In London, British Prime Minister Theresa May accused Syria and Russia of trying to cover up evidence. She said Syrian officials have been searching evacuees from Douma to ensure samples are not smuggled out. "A wider operation to conceal the facts of the attack is underway, supported by the Russians," she told lawmakers.

Who the hell would advise bombing a massive chemical weapons factory, releasing tons of chlorine gas and other deadly agents which would drift out and cause massive casualties?
There were no chemical weapons there.
This whole issue is a very expensive risky sham.

Yes, the Russians have obviously cleaned it up. I understand the White Helmets obtained video of the Russians bringing in cases of febreze, and Hoover vacuum cleaners. /S

According to the people he spoke to, Douma was a case of aphyxiation (from whatever cause) that was conflated by panic or malice into a gas scare.
This doesn't fit the deep state narrative. Given the suspicious timing of the Douma 'attack', I would bet on a cynically staged event.
Working theory: the White helmets deliberately gassed basement dwellers with carbon monoxide (by burning wood in a low oxygen environment) and then cried 'gas'.
Who knows the truth but it sure got Trump to reverse course from bringing our troops home.
