Trump lawyer Michael Cohen's mystery client is Fox News host Sean Hannity
CNBC ^ | April 16, 2018 | by Dan Mangan, Kevin Breuninger

An unnamed client of Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's longtime personal attorney, is Fox News host Sean Hannity.

The revelation came after U.S. District Court judge Kimba Wood ordered Cohen to disclose the name in a court hearing on Monday.

In an earlier court filing Monday morning, lawyers for Cohen refused to identify the recent client — one of three people Cohen represented between 2017 and 2018. The lawyers also refused to identify the names of other past clients.

Lawyers for Cohen — whose business records were seized by FBI agents April 9 — said the then-unnamed client had told Cohen not to disclose his name and that they believed Cohen had a duty not to disclose it.

They also said that if Cohen's clients, other than Trump, were publicly revealed, it is "likely to be embarrassing or detrimental to the client."

Paying Stormy Daniels is not an FEC violation.

My understanding is that Mr. Trump used his own money to pay Daniels, which is remarkably different than the John Edwards case where third parties made payments to Edward's mistress to keep her quiet during the campaign. Even so, Edwards was acquitted on most charges and had a hung jury on the remaining charges. Indeed, if the payment to Stormy Daniels is an FEC violation, than so is every payment made to the victims of sexual harassment and misconduct committed by members of Congress.

That's at odds with what Cohen and Trump are saying.

Its been like that for a long time..which is the main reason why the left wants to disarm us..its not because they care about Americans dying and want to prevent more deaths..NO, its because we will be easier to KILL once we are all disarmed..THAT is the reason why

So basically its a conflict of interest story..and..again, what does this have to do with Russia..this story is about a TV personality who got legal advice from someone who is also the attorney for someone Hannity has supported since the beginning so what

Witch hunt, yes. And because the Left is hoping to sing, "Ding, Dong, the Witch is Dead." Here is a link to a gleeful post from the New Yorker:

I know. It’s nuts! Really the biggest hope I have for Trump besides more SCOTUS pics, is that he can expose the swamp to sunlight. Undeniable sunlight. The media will also be undeniably exposed for what they are. (Liars) It will be up to us after that. Hopefully it will be severe enough that the media will not be able to lull the sheeple back to sleep. The economy is booming, yet Trump is hated like no other...because of the media!

Oy. So he is the guy Sean hired to go after when the sponsor boycott was going after him.

What is the point of Sean saying he didn’t pay the man? On Twitter he is getting slammed for that. How does it benefit Sean to say Cohen wasn’t his lawyer? Attorney client PRIVILEGE. wouldn’t it be legally better to sue the govt for breaking that privilege?

Hannity has not retained Cohen, but he is admitting he had consultations.

Hannity has not retained Cohen, but he is admitting he had consultations.

Even unpaid consultations with an attorney are subject to the attorney-client privilege if the consultation concerns legal advise. For example, someone calls a lawyer to see if he will take the case. The lawyer spends ten minutes on the phone with the potential client during which he asks a number of question concerning the dispute. Even if the lawyer decides not to take the case of the client decides not to retain the layer, the ten minute phone call is subject to the attorney-client privilege.

HANNITY says on the radio he never used Cohen. He just asked him some legal questions.

But then there's no attorney client privilege.

The Hogg is a puppet of Soros/MediaMatters. I am sure he gets frequent talking points and instructions from them.

The DOJ and the FBI = Stasi, Kempentai, NKVD, Gestapo, and the KGB.

America USED to be a nation of laws.

No, I didn’t miss it. That is my question. Why did Sean say that? They are all REVEALING Sean as a client. So they must have some files. I love Sean and I want him to come out ok in this. I don’t see the advantage of him not being able to say they violated Sean’s constitutional rights.

It is not dishonest at all. Lawyers have many clients. Doesn’t mean that their interests mix, or that if one client has potential criminal problems that all the other clients of that lawyer are somehow involved or tainted.
