There's a spot on the Vermont/Quebec border called Derby Line/Stanstead.It's famous for,among other things,the Haskell Library which was deliberately built on the US/Canada border.I've been there...it's an interesting place.There's a black line on the floor representing the actual border.Right outside the library there's a white line on a street that says "US/Canada" with US Border Patrol constantly nearby and the RCMP often nearby.On one of my visits there I actually had a short chat with an RCMP officer over that line...that's how nondescript that spot is.
A person can easily...*very* easily...step over that line in either direction.And it's less that a mile from the end of I-91.
