We shouldn’t have two official languages. But private conversation is free speech, is it not?
I do agree, when you live in a foreign country, you learn the language to the best of your ability out of respect and simple practicality.
Why are kids speaking a foreign language loudly in a public place in the suburbs? They’re not tourists.
Are they intent on learning the language? Are they intent that we will have two languages.
Are they learning English? No. Are they associating with americans? Why not?
Industry is growing in WV ... I'd like to see those manufacturing jobs, and all the resulting secondary job creation, go to Americans ... preferably West Virginians.
In Germany, even in sections where many americans live, the Germans speak German
In the US, retail outlets etc hire only bilingual and patronize and even favor spanish speaking
They are one side of the invasion
Do not dream that these nasty disrespectful educated girls and their families will be happy with bilingual with Spanish being secondary in twenty years from now
And in that workd there is also a rejection of our foundation and culture

That lack of foresight is another way the culture is giving our country away

Oh of course you can exercise your right. I don’t know if it’s going to win anyone over to criticize the language used in private conversation.
I just see it as far more principled to oppose illegal immigration and bilingual mandates, say, than to get after some chattering teens.
You mention Germany, and it is well known that they speak English there as well, so much so that people who want to visit and try to practice German there get frustrated because the Germans just answer in English!
Of course they don’t have the problem of Americans crashing their borders and demanding citizenship so there is that.
In NY we always tod people to speak English
In the hospital we always told colleagues to speak English. People who were here legally from the Phillipines. They would smile, apologize, and then speak english
My current boss says workers are to speak Engish directing us that customers and other workers dont want staff talking about them in a different language. It is rude
Thise girls spoke perfect English.
But we dint have freedom of speech when ot comes to telling Spanish speaking kids pretending to be here to assimilate, which they are not, to knock it off

I spent many years living in europe so believe me when i say they are not going to give over the national language of germany to americans. Nor is france. Nor is mexico
We, on the other hand, in pretending to be nice to others forget, in our wimpiness and self loathing, to take cre of ourselves.

Those girls will probably become more obnoxious. They might as well know what a lot of us think before the entire culture is given over if that happens. I have no problem telling them what I think.

They are not allowed to hate our language or resent having to learn it and use it
Their parents and grandparents are exempt. The time to learn language is in youth.
Ive taken care of foreign speakers my whole life. I was trying to revive someone just this week who spent her life here speaking another language (not spanish) I have no such opinion of her behavior or language skills. I can deal with foreign speakers.
Kids must learn and use our language out in public. It has always been that way. until now Until this moment in american history whn the average joe thinks its okay to allow his home town to be taken over culturally to america despisers
