U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said on Sunday that the United States would not pull its troops out of Syria until its goals were accomplished.
Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Haley listed three aims for the United States: ensuring that chemical weapons are not used in any way that pose a risk to U.S. interests, that Islamic State is defeated and that there is a good vantage point to watch what Iran is doing.

It is a proven asymmetric strategy that has not failed since the 1960s. And it’s still going on in innumerable hot spots around the world. And it will continue for as long as do-gooderism prevails over realism.
Do-gooderism emerges in the heart of man and confounds him. It’s the false belief that everything can be made orderly and right.
Realism emerges in the mind of man and counsels him to take care to ensure those close are safe and prosperous; and reminds him he can’t fix other people’s shit.

I get it you don’t like her politics. And I am quite okay with that. And, if you are unhappy that Trump picked her, I get that too. And I respect your position for whatever the reason is. I must admit, I am not a big fan of Romney, McCain and that other bizarro Arizona Senator. In other words, I, like you, don’t like certain so called conservatives too.
So, if you want to tell me how much you can’t stand Haley, I say go for it. The only thing I am pushing you on is she is not going rogue because I know how the key messages (taking points) are drafted and put out for release.

How many times now has the President had to correct the record the day after she speaks?
I am not aware of any nor have I seen any in the news.
What she has said over the Syrian issue is consistent with the rest of the administration including the president.
Tomorrow the adminstration will be announcing further sanctions through the Treasury department against certain Russians. That is also consistent with Haley’s statements.

A good vantage point to watch Iran? Is she serious? No, there are no legitimate goals in Syria. It’s insane for the US to have any involvement there. So we’re worried about chemical weapons attacks on civilians, but we are selling the Saudis all kind of weapons so they can starve the people of Yemen into submission. Sounds humanitarian to me... not.
