While acknowledging the “Steele dossier” contained “salacious and unverified” material, knowing it was produced with help from an ex-foreign spy and understanding that it relied on primary sources who were said to be close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Comey apparently did not open an investigation into this effort to impact the U.S. election and undermine the American president.

This quote here is my biggest frustration with the Mueller investigation. If they (as many have said) are going to follow the Russian collusion narrative no matter where it leads than they should be investigating the role of the DNC, Clinton Campaign, and partisans within the prior administration and our intel/LE circles for promoting a Russian work of fiction to the point that it became a FISA warrant on a political campaign combined with unmasking and leaking to undermine an elected President.

This would be the true fulfillment of an impartial special counsel, but that is not what we appear to have. This targeted Trump and the target has never moved. In my humble opinion, the Republicans who continue to speak publicly about the “need to protect the Special Counsel” would do well to mention it. Otherwise, they are demonstrating membership in the status quo is more important than truth.

By any objective measure - all politics aside.....

The collusion narrative (and obstruction to since it has morphed) fits the other side far better than the Trump campaign. The cheerleading and speculation by an obviously biased media has made it far worse, but only one side that I am aware of paid a former British agent for information from Russians and then pushed it throughout government and in court.

I am willing to be that 100 out of 100 prosecutors at any level would have charged the email case if the defendant was not named Clinton. This angers me greatly. I realize that the politically connected and wealthy often have inherent advantages in any nation, but this whole “too big to fail” and “too big to jail” is an open admission that not all animals are created equally in direct contravention to our constitution and the law.

I should also add and I absolutely believe this is true that the coverup was also done to protect the previous President who in the words of Comey “showed bad judgement” in exchanging emails with his SoS via an unsecured server.

John Ratcliffe had one of the best points I have heard about Comey’s decisions today on Fox News.

Comey assumed the authority and mantle of his superiors at DOJ in deciding not to charge. This was wrong and subverted the proper authority of the Executive Branch.

Comey assumed the authority of a Judge in interpreting the applicable statutes (although they ignored many applicable ones) with his addition of the intent clause where it did not otherwise exist. This assumed the power of the Judiciary.

Comey also assumed the authority of congress with his twisted interpretation of a statute that congress wrote.

On top of that, he is now openly admitting what many suspected all along.... that political calculations were a part of his deliberation. “Lordy......”
