Probably the most dramatic “Call ins” that Art Bell ever had. I remember hearing it live. Well done!

I didn’t listen to him much but he was very entertaining.
He made his show special. Replacements never measured up. Sorry to hear of his apparently sudden demise. If of natural causes, I agree that decades of chain-smoking likely had something to do with it.
Bell’s bottom line was that his show was a friendly forum for both mainstream and sincerely held alternative views, but that he did not believe everything that his guests described. Perceptive listeners could usually tell when Bell did not sign on to what the guest was peddling.
I thought he had moved to the Philippines. RIP to a very interesting man.
#4. “Look to the skies” for an answer.
Probably the best radio voice ever. Even if he was a bit of a crack pot.
Friday the 13th. Somehow that was appropriate.
Say hello to Long John.
RIP.
Damn...
Rest in peace, Art. You were the best.
Doctor recently told me that smoking is very much associated with risk of sudden death. (I don’t smoke). Art Bell had a great voice and persona. Scared me one night he took a call from an old lady who described an encounter with a sasquatch when she was a little girl.
He has journeyed via inter-dimensional travel and is looking for ghosts and angels.
Im not saying it was aliens, but...
Long John was the original and the best. When he followed Bob Grant late night in NYC it was radio heaven. Art Bell was of a similar character.
No words. So sad.
Wow. Sad to hear that. An Icon. With some crazy guests but still interesting enough to keep folks awake on a midnight drive.
Friday the 13th seems somehow appropriate, tho. RIP Art Bell.
And I never knew...That your baby was a hybrid!
And I think Ive just seen a ghost...because Im listening from Coast to Coast!
“Rest in peace, Art. You were the best”
Yes he was. And so much better than the current two faced one..
Bummer. He was fun to listen to.
NY radio heaven also included Jean Shepherd.
