Me, too. Noory is such a phony.
Truly one of a kind and a master of what he did.
R.I.P.
Thanks!
Thank you for posting that. I listened to the original interviews and look forward to listening again.
I am sorry.
Enjoyed his shows back in the late ‘90s. RIP.
First thing that came to mind. Fr. Martin’s comments were scary and eye-opening to say the least.
he didn’t die. He is in another dimension.
Thanks!
Came here looking for this.
Here is my Art Bell moment. I made one call to the show in the days when I was calling shows with Clinton-bashing limericks. I told him I was going to do a limerick and he asked if it was clean. I said yes. At the end he cut it off and got pissed at me.
That Paula, he thought, was some filly
When pants dropped, she thought him quite silly
But then later she’d file
And he soon lost his smile
He shouldn’t have whipped out old Willy
That was the first of probably hundreds I got on various shows during the Clinton time. This was the inaugural one I got on the Ray Breem overnight show on KABC in Los Angeles when he asked for a limerick about Paula. Every day he did a word of the day and I would immediately fax him a limerick using the word, which he read on the air.
Really enjoyed Art Bell. Phil Hendrie did several Art Bell spoofs that were not only well-done, but absolutely hilarious ... though I don’t know what Art Bell thought about those sketches.
Thanks, Revel. Malachi Martin was the main reason why I would check in on Art Bell’s show to see whether Martin would be on again.
Friday the 13th
I like Phil Hendrie a lot. I think he would be better with a co-host who also does voices and they could riff off one another or just plays straight-man to him while he calls in with the funny.
He retired, though, didnt he?
He was an entertainer.
He had a great radio voice and manner of interviewing and telling stories. I got a kick out of many of his programs, but his personal life began to get disturbing. Once he left Coast to Coast, I never tried to follow his on again off again radio broadcasts.
Hendrix was a one trick pony. Which was, ultimately, actually boring.
You were prolific! Best dirty limericks ever. And, really, what other kind of limericks are there?
Noory does have a soothing put-you-to-sleep voice. I should be glad Mark Levin doesnt have 5 hours of overnight.
His personal life was extremely disturbing.
His teen son was sexual abused by a teacher with HIV+ right? What ever happened with that?
Days after his wife died with him asleep in the van with her, he decided to just go to the Philippines and pick up another. Geez. Was that sexist or just racist? RIP but he was weird.
