“The confusion of trying to understand the world through through warped media was unsettling to say the least.”......

And it continues to this day. Fake news has taken over our lives leaving us all asking, who should we believe? Certainly NOT the media.

Did not win Stanley Cup that year (not until 1997), but still had Gordie, Alex, and the rest the group.

Avocado appliances and wood paneling.

Don't forget "toasted almond" as well.

In one article, most of our problems are mapped.

Of course, the moral decay on campuses, encouraged by the draft avoidance of the Viet Nam era and the resulting mindset that “everyone ought to go to college”, isn’t addressed, if it was, I missed it.

People who went to college to avoid the draft, and got PhDs, needed teaching billets, so the “everyone needed a college education” resulted in today’s college indoctrination society. “Education” has been replaced by “Indoctrination” in all levels of schooling.

69 Cubs? Screw that. The Mets beat the 100-game-winning Orioles/I>.

And the Jets beat Unitas and the Colts, but that's another story. Didn't Baltimore used to have an NBA team called the Bullets?

“It is not adversity that besets us with our troubles. But the plenty we have that so many take utterly for granted.”

“in ‘69 I was 21.....runnin’ into the sun but i’m runnin’ behind”

Used to live like I’d never make 25, after that I lived like nothing could kill me.

And then the pill, abortion on demand, no-fault divorce, and Children’s Destructive Services along with alimony-without-verification, and “Affirmative Action” (in practice, invent non existent high paid jobs for women) while encouraging women to sleep around in their 20s and then seek marriage as a jaded, competitive, masculine cubicle drone at 30...

I read elsewhere on FR, someone quoted McNamara as saying he was disappointed he’d only killed 50,000 American men. He, (we don’t say his name), Kerry, and Chappaquiddick (as well as LBJ) should all for in Hell.

Go back to 1962 to see the fuse lit when the American judiciary declared war on God. Its been downhill since.

Good article. Much happened before then (not all-inclusive):

1910’s Roosevelt/Taft/Wilson + Fed Reserve + women’s vote + John Dewey;

1930’s FDR;

1940’s Frankfurt School + Dr. Spock + U.N.;

1950’s Postwar “whatever” attitude in America (TV + sports + beer) + U.N. + CPUSA + Hollywood;

1960’s U.N. + CPUSA + Hollywood + drugs + sex + TV + Walter Cronkite + NEA.

“The boomer generation drank the soviet subversion koolaid by the gallon.”

Try again.

It was the “Greatest Generation” who voted LBJ into office. The boomer generation voted overwhelmingly for Reagan in 1984.

I was looking through an old copy of our local news paper from the late 1960s. in the fall around the time HS Football started. a couple of the local drive ins switched to X-Rated movie nights.

They relocated one of the high schools in 1967. Long behold, the football field was right next to the drive in. My grandparents were there one night and you could see the screen up on the hill from down in the visitors bleachers. Needless to say that was a distraction. They talked the drive in owner into making a few changes and the view became obstructed the next year. lol

Yeah, and then lost the Super Bowl.

That's coming in second no matter how you slice it.
