As a healthy male approaching age 70, I feel quite depressed after looking at your photo album of collapsed wind mills.

... should have to reconcile the inherent contradictions in their positions.Yeah; sure.
They use the ALGORE model; I think.

And the energy output is not what was anticipated so more wind farms are planned.

and the only thing I can think of for copper is just in the cabling?Have you ever taken apart an Alternator, or Generator, or any kind of electric motor ?

Looks like a blade failed and the resulting imbalance shook the rest to pieces.

His question is why would 333 x 3MW AC generators on 333 windmills require more copper than 1 x 1,000 MW AC generator in a single generating unit in a conventional power plant.
Your answer shows the copper usage in any AC machine. But it doesn’t answer the question why windmills need 3X to 5X MORE copper than conventional central station units.
What do you think accounts for that?

Hard to buy that explanation.
If it lost a blade, I would think the remaining blades would simply swing downward and stop due to the imbalance.

That picture there is the best example of what results from liberal ideas being implemented in real life I ever seen.

blades that cannot be disposed of in an environmentally safe way
You see a lot of Prius on the road. The people next door bragged about the used one they bought a few years ago but dumped it once they had to replace the battery.
I work with a bunch of enviro-MENTAL wackos......what happens when we have to dispose of the batteries?

Here's another one burning, chucks a blade at abut 2:10 in the video, keeps turning (sort of).
Amazing.

Where is that?
the wind must be in the red flag range to keep that thing turning.

Where is that? Good question. Could you hear the background chatter from the cameraman? It sounds Indian or Paki to me, but I claim no expertise. Check out #56; looks like the same type turbine.

Yes, I am aware of that but any other power plant is going to have the same/similar stuff (at the same size). Wind turbines aren't built much differently to where it would need 2-3x more copper than an equivalent steam (coal/nuke) generator. The only thing I can think of for where that extra copper goes is all the cabling to connect the towers to the grid/transformers that a regular power plant doesn't need nearly as much of.

That’s what I’m talking about, thanks for the video.
It’s like ground resonance with a helicopter where the main rotor blades are knocked out of phase and the mass imbalance eats everything up.
