The "world's policeman" is more like it. We've been that since WWII. Nobody else can do it. We're stuck. But, we can undo that title by just becoming a third world nation, which is what the democrats wish for us.

My son served in the middle east and I was a critic even before that. The boots on the ground know when a war is just or not. And i have seen number of idiotic unjust military actions by several presidents in my lifetime. So i need someone to explain why the world needs a traffic cop and it happens to be us.

That is exactly correct. A whole lot of FReepers need to carefully consider who they prefer as “world’s policeman” as SOMEONE will fill the vacuum if it is allowed to develop.
