Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is fully aware he may be fired soon and is at peace with the possibility, NBC News is reporting.
The news network attributed the information to a source who has spoken to Rosenstein.
That sources, and two others, said they have spoken to him numerous times during his tenure as deputy attorney general. And they note he now seems less anxious than in previous times President Donald Trump has been critical of him.

I really like your idea! The problem is “leveraging” McConnell. With that butt ugly mug, I doubt he’s been sleeping around lately!
If he chooses carefully, the position to be filled won’t be nearly as “controversial” or difficult as replacing, say, Mr. Magoo at AG.

There is always an ‘Acting’ official, whatever the title. Next guy moves up. Note that ‘Acting’ is not the same as ‘Interim’. ‘Acting’ is an automatic step up while ‘Interim’ must be specifically named. Some of these deputy-type jobs are reserved for career people from within the departments. Not sure about the Deputy AG, but I think it is is a ‘reserved for those within’ job.
