Why did she abandon her husband? Wouldn’t it be better to move her children where they can be close to their father? Is there no love in this family? And besides, the cost of living in Guatemala is so much lower. I mean, it’s not a chithole, is it?

That is a not likely a possibility for them or their best option in a situation with no good options. Think it through from their position.

Economics. While the cost of living is cheaper in their home country, they don’t get welfare benefits and other subsidies. Also probably getting some type of Social Security money for all them chitlins...
