A leading weapons academic has claimed that the Khan Sheikhoun nerve agent attack in Syria was staged, raising questions about who was responsible.
Theodore Postol, a professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), issued a series of three reports in response to the White House's finding that Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad perpetrated the attack on 4 April.
He concluded that the US government's report does not provide any "concrete" evidence that Assad was responsible, adding it was more likely that the attack was perpetrated by players on the ground.
Postol said: "I have reviewed the [White House's] document carefully, and I believe it can be shown, without doubt, that the document does not provide any evidence whatsoever that the US government has concrete knowledge that the government of Syria was the source of the chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun, Syria at roughly 6am to 7am on 4 April, 2017.
"In fact, a main piece of evidence that is cited in the document point to an attack that was executed by individuals on the ground, not from an aircraft, on the morning of 4 April.
"This conclusion is based on an assumption made by the White House when it cited the source of the sarin release and the photographs of that source. My own assessment is that the source was very likely tampered with or staged, so no serious conclusion could be made from the photographs cited by the White House."

Thanks.
>>McCain and Lindsay are very much deep state, and want war with Syria. Maybe youre on their staff?<<
McCain and his squeeze are two of the most dishonest and despicable characters ever to set foot on Capitol Hill.
Actually we want to DESTROY Assad’s ability to launch Chemical Weapons attack, not kill Syrians.
.... Then Kill ‘em All .... Let God sort them out ...
You’re playing guilt by association. You want us to go to war against Syria bc Russia and Iran are fighting the al Quada Sunni jihadis. Who are backed by the tyrannical Saudis - the folks who gave us 911
You, McCain and Lindsey all love Al Qauda
Facts are such pernicious things. Someone once said; The greatest barrier to the truth, is to believe you already have it. Clearly you don't, because you refuse to look for it and insult and get offended at those who do.
And more information than you. In fact, he has more information than you, me and all the other war mongers on here.
So my questions to you:
Are you going to be putting on some kit, grabbing an M4 and walking a foot patrol through Damascus or any other part of Syria?
Is any member of your family going to be putting on some kit and grabbing an M4 to walk a foot patrol through Damascus or any other part of Syria?
Do we need to see C17s, filled with caskets, for no reason, again?
I’m a believer in the President as well, but he can only make a decision on the information that he is provided. Do you trust, with 100% certainty that the information he’s being given is the truth? Or “could” it be used by nefarious forces to get the administration mired in someone else’s crap?
As someone that has deployed, that has had a nephew that deployed and one nephew that is still in and could deploy, until I’m shown that putting boots on the ground in Syria will benefit American interests, then I(personally) see no reason to put the 82nd Airborne or 2nd Marine Div anywhere near the place.
Oh, that’s right, we have to stop Iran and Russia from having relationships with Assad. That’s right. During the Bush administration, the Dem’s had no problem meeting with Assad contrary to the wishes of the President. Assad was cozy with the Iranians and Russians then, as he is now. Only now, Graham-McCain-the Dem’s-and all the other warhawks want to drop in the 82nd.
For what? To depose a brutal dictator? So, we can usher in radical islamic leadership? Because that is who is waiting in the wings. The world got lucky in Egypt when the military put the Muslim Brotherhood in prison. Will the Syrian army do the same?
Nor mine and I agree that he’s the best we’ve had in a very long time.
And I’m going to trust that he has at least one other person, outside of the intel & DOD folks, that can talk to him about this. Especially, after his latest tweet about maybe not launching any air/missile strikes, he might be getting a different point of view from those that want to drop bombs at the slightest incident.
If this country goes to war, then let it go to war. And wage that war in such a devastating manner that absolutely no country would ever think of challenging us, again. Take out government centers, population centers, power capabilities. Knock whoever comes against us, back into the f**king Stone Ages and let them wallow in their misery. Don’t try to go in there to rebuild or attempt to establish a democracy/Constitutional Republic. Let them suffer the consequences. Let China and the rest of the world come to their rescue, for once.
Er, 2017, not 2018.
But what they could do in 2017 they could also do in 2018.
Not worth WW3.
A distinction without a difference.
If you are downwind, you still choke and croak.
CIA director, Mike Pompeo said al-Qaeda and Iran have always built “secret and open” ties. It doesn’t make sense unless Iran has elected to ignore the ideological differences for the strategic. Hamza bin Laden, the son of late al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, and the new leader of al-Qaeda, lives in Iran and works out of Iran. He is supported by Iran. How al-Queda, Iran, Russia and Assad are in collusion tells me they are working against the United States, Western Europe, and Saudi Arabia. Why is this so? You tell me.
As for Saudi Arabia, al-Qaeda is not their friend. When al-Qaeda began to attack the kingdom directly in May 2003, it became an ally with the United States in counter-terrorism. Understanding Saudi Arabias relationship with terrorists is complex and beyond my pay grade. It seems as though the kingdom has warmed up to the Trump Administration as a true ally.
As a good indication, Saudi Arabias powerful crown prince Mohammed bin Salman has said that Israelis have the right to have their own land and that formal relations between Israel and the kingdom could be mutually beneficial as a potential partner in the kingdoms cold war with Iran.
Same for pentagon, no proof what so ever that an airplane struck the Pentagon other than they said so. Where are the airplane engines that surely parts of would have survived?

Who knew!
Sounds like a nifty invention!
From the link, explaining the invention's utility:
As a consequence, the US submarine force today is much more capable than it was previously against hardened targets such as Russian ICBM silos. A decade ago, only about 20 percent of US submarine warheads had hard-target kill capability; today they all do. (See Figure 1.)
Gosh - got “Hillary lost” remorse???
“Where did the Sarin gas come from? The Tooth Fairy?”
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
It can be produced. You probably don’t remember when a religious cult in Japan was able to manufacture Sarin which they used in a subway attack [March 20, 1995].
