Senators to introduce new bipartisan bill to protect Mueller
The Hill ^ | 04/11/18 | Jordain Carney

A group of bipartisan senators is introducing new legislation to limit President Trump's ability to fire special counsel Robert Mueller.

Sens. Cory Booker (D-N.J.). Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Christopher Coons (D-Del.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) will introduce the legislation, the Special Counsel Independence and Integrity Act, on Wednesday.

The legislation would let Mueller, or any other special counsel, receive an "expedited judicial review" within 10 days of being fired to determine if it was for a "good cause." If it was determined it wasn't, he would be reinstated.

It would also codify regulations that only a senior Justice Department official can fire a special counsel and that they must provide the reason in writing.

“It would also codify regulations that only a senior Justice Department official can fire a special counsel and that they must provide the reason in writing.”

Idiots. Control of any special prosecutor CANNOT rely on insiders inside the DOJ to make that determination. It presumes that insiders in the DOJ themselves should not be part of who is being investigated.

There is no true INDEPENDENT special prosecutor if they are in any way part of and controlled by the judgement of the DOJ.

Just a PR stunt to try and embarrass Trump even more knowing that Trump would not only not sign it even if it managed to pass both Houses, they well know that Trump would most likely veto it with good cause. This is likely an attempt to try and cast Trump as a rouge out of control President willing to do anything to hang onto power. The never Trumpers just keep piling on the shat. They likely think they have Trump on the ropes.
>

The only ones that (should be) embarrassed are those that signed this POS, the ‘leadership’ for not slapping these dipshits about and the (R)N(C) for allowing the traitors to run on the party banner.

I guess one more: those VOTING (R)N(C), noting the lack of ANY correction, speeches in opposition (I haven’t noted any ACTIONS).

Dr. Paul is ‘bout the ONLY one, but he’s of the ‘kooky’ (L) bent.

Lindsey Graham keeps getting re-elected in South Carolina.
Doesn't matter- he does whatever he wants.

Short of saying the words, he's been telling the voters in South Carolina to GF themselves, and they go out and vote for him anyway.

I believe all of this is being done by the RNC, the republicans, and everyone in bed with them.
I blame them.

IMO They didn't like the voters making the call and have decided to do something about it.

None of this bullshit would be going on if the republicans weren't helping them at every turn.

They pass the bill; Donald Trump shoves it unsigned into a drawer; Donald Trump fires The Mule. Such stuff dreams are made of.

They could haul Trump off in cuffs tomorrow, and 99.99% of American's wouldn't do a damn thing.

I would love to attack your statement here but experience prevents me from saying you are dead wrong.

I hope they try. This might be the end of these RINO traitors at the midterms who are sufficiently stupid to sign-up for this.

Since Congress has been remiss in confirming ‘senior Justice Department officials’, the law would be moot anyway.

The article would make more sense if stated from the perspective of globalist / sovereignist.

Yup. They can always find the time to protect the deep state, but ask them to do the people’s business, like pass an actual budget, or approve judges, and they suddenly are too busy to accomplish anything.

And as long he as their elected Senator they will keep reelecting him most likely as long as he keeps bringing home the bacon to his constituents to his state. That's the biggest reason most people vote for their state US Senators, to bring home the bacon for them. Modern day politics is almost always all about the money at all levels of government be it at the federal, state of local level.

That would be a colossal mistake. Fire Rosenstein instead and replace him with someone who would rein in Mueller by forcing him get back on track and narrow the focus back onto his originally charged investigation of collusion and make Sessions feel truly threatened for his very life, job and future thus forcing him to appoint that special prosecutor to investigate the deep state which Sessions is part of and where Mueller is a ranking lieutenant and Obama is the head of the Hydra like conspiracy in the deep state cabal and its attempts at overthrowing a legitimately elected President in a coup attempt.

Ask them politely not to put your family in harm's way?

Do you see your chances against an Apache gunship as better? Come on due, they're not going to show up with 4 cops, they will have a full tactical team and come to get one person at a time. I have dozens of firearms, of which will be of no use against a SWAT team, give me a break.
