It's kind of strange logging into Facebook (under a completely fake identity) and getting a "Happy Birthday" announcement on some random day that isn't anywhere close to my real birthday. LOL.
That is precisely it. If you get on their radar, every single post you have here they can access because it is public information.
This is why my motto, ever since I started posting here in the late 90’s, is to assume that the one person in the world that wants to do me the most harm is reading my post -and can try to use it against me. And then post accordingly.
Need one for work which is why it goes on the desk at 5 PM.
This is from Yahoo:
How we collect and use data.
Weve updated some of the ways we collect and analyze user data in order to deliver services, content, relevant advertising and abuse protection.
This includes: analyzing content and information when you use our services (including emails, instant messages, posts, photos, attachments, and other communications), linking your activity on other sites and apps with information we have about you, and providing anonymized and/or aggregated reports to other parties regarding user trends.
This is why it’s best to precede every crime with the theft of a cell phone.
I do not own a cell phone.
^ This I own one but it hasn’t been charged or had an account for over a year. $40 bucks a month to make one call home to see if we need milk, forget it, I can do without.
“That’s why I plan to give my cell phone and access code to a homeless guy in New York before I rob the bank in Montana. “
The CCTV cameras in NYC will identify the person with the phone as not you.
The License Plate cameras (if you drive or rent a car there) will link you to Montana. The Facial Recognition Cameras (and many other systems) at the airport will link you to Montana if you fly. Similar for bus/train.
Bottom line - game over. That’s why the push for ‘Criminal Justice Reform’. It’s just too easy now to pin crimes on minorities with tons and tons of electronic evidence. Defense attorneys can no longer create a reasonable doubt when the thug is guilty. Hence, who cares if he’s guilty, let’s give him a pass anyway.
“That’s why I plan to give my cell phone and access code to a homeless guy in New York before I rob the bank in Montana.”
And, there you have it folks.
Until they implant chips under our arm...
So a spouse could track the other spouse’s location...or kids, etc...right? (Have a friend whose soon to be ex-husband may be doing that to her....he’s a techie, she’s not)
Exactly. But nowadays that can be done easily with iPhone accounts. People want it.
One of the fake things in the movie “monster trucks” was when the guys phone goes with the truck rather than him, the girl says, “no problem. I have an app that will show us where your phone (and the truck) is.”
Not without either his previous permission or a subpoena it does.
It uses a pretty simple security methodology. Change your google account password and your ex can’t see it.
Thanks, I’ll suggest she do that today. Something REALLY weird happened yesterday...
If your spouse has your password, and the account is tracking you, the amount of knowledge your ex could have about your movements is not a good thing. Especially if they can still do damage (e.g. divorce pending and he/she can see all your trips to your paramour’s house as well as where the two of you go.)
Well...she has no “paramour”...so that’s not a problem, but he showed up at a trailhead as we were returning on a hike about 45 min out of town...SOOOOOooo coincidental...started my husband and I wondering....
Yeah, that could be exactly it. I just checked. Mine shows me the meeting I went to in South Louisville this morning and that I have returned to the office in downtown.
Yeah, I’d change that password. :)
