The University of Alabama champion Crimson Tide football team showed up for their day at the White House on Tuesday, with several following Coach Nick Saban in saying it was an honor.
You know, not many people get invited to the White House, so not many people get invited to see the president and meet the president. So this is a special day for our team. A team that is being honored here because of their achievements in terms of winning the college football national championship, which makes me very proud, said six-time championship winner Saban.
A special thanks to our president to invite us here and make this a special day for us. President Trump, thank you so much, he added.
Trump clearly ate it up.

They’ve got a name for the winners of the world and I want one when I lose
They call Alabama the Crimson Tide so call me Deacon Blues
Steely Dan...great music.
And the lyrics made sense.
And ROLL TIDE to you, too, buddy.
bttt
Alabama is a Division 1 team, isn’t it?
not NCAA.. FBS National championship is run by private organizaiton outside of NCAA.. NCAA Divsion 1 champion is North Dakota State University.
I think it would be fun to have the FBS Champion play the Division 1 champion to start to the next season.
Because they won the 2017 season NCAA College Football Championship?
see post 28.....for touching photo with players praying for Trump....
Then maybe take a moment to appreciate the fact Trump clearly enjoyed this....... “ate it up” is simply an expression of that....
Post of the Day
Roll Tide...
The respect went both ways.....so neat to see the team recognize and respect this opportunity to meet our President....he was happily enjoying them...a lighter moment with the otherwise weight of the world on his shoulders....
Hmm..You sound triggered. Poor widdle jealous snowflake.
Roll Tide, snowflake:)
These photo op events were given lots of publicity for nobama. Down the memory hole for PDJT.
Go back in time and notice that most, if not all, jerseys given to other Presidents at those ceremonies have the number of the President on them. For example, The Donald's, if beholden to tradition, would have had the number 45.
Just curious why the break in tradition with the Astros and now Alabama. Sue me.
