Disney deleted what many social media users considered a morbid post on their official Twitter account on Monday, which showed the classic character Pinocchio seemingly left dead inside. The tweet, which was posted around 2 p.m. on Sunday to the brands nearly six million followers, was a GIF from Disneys 1940s classic Pinocchio showing the doll being enchanted by a blue fairy with the tagline: When someone compliments you, but youre dead inside.
Makes no difference who you are, the tweet read, a lyric from the films Oscar-winning song, Wish Upon a Star.
The post quickly went viral, garnered around 30,000 retweets, thousands of comments, and millions of views before it was deleted.
Some fans were confused by the dark message, with several speculating that it had a deeper meaning about famous dolls character.

Disney = America’s Ministry of Culture.
I don’t get it.
What’s the broohaha about the tagline?

However, the abuse of the pre-teen girls for their tv shows and movies are legendary in the entertainment industry. If you send your daughter to do a movie for Disney, she is almost certainly going to end up sexually abused along the way.
If I am understanding your post, people are speculating that the tweet had a deeper message than just an internet meme or pun.

To tweet or not to tweet, that is the question.
I chose not to.
Disney makes lots of movies for kids where one or both parents are dead. We know they’re dead inside.
Yes. Apparently some other people thought so as well and *got* it.
