GOP Sen Grassley: ‘It Would Be Suicide’ to Fire Mueller – ‘POTUS Ought to Have Confidence in him’
Breitbart ^ | 4/10/2018 | Ian Hatchett

On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) stated it “would be suicide” to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller and President Trump should have “confidence” in Mueller.

Grassley said, “I have confidence in Mueller. The president ought to have confidence in Mueller. And I think…it would be suicide for the president to want, to talk about firing Mueller. The less the president said on this whole thing, the better off he would be, the stronger his presidency would be.”

Grassley also praised Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ work and argued the president shouldn’t put the Senate through another confirmation battle.

My support for conservatives in general is shrinking because they refuse to get the people they sent to DC in-line and under control.

Either get off your rears and get in their faces or stop complaining on FR.

Don’t fire Mueller; fire lots of his lieutenants instead...

Surprised to hear the “have more confidence” BS coming from Grassley, although I do agree with the first part of his statement. Not that Mueller shouldn’t be fired, but I think it might cause more problems than it solves. But then, what do I know...

“The swamp owns everyone.”

Correct.

They have been illegally collecting intelligence on every elected official and every judge for 20 years.

They have an archive at the ready for anyone who fails to toe the line.

I know Sen. Grassley and his staff. He’s saying he’s got a pretty good idea of how the votes would go if it came to that.

And the Senator is telling the President the same thing numerous lawyers have tried to tell him. Spouting off about legal matters in social media is not a good idea for anyone being targeted. Sure, Trump lovers get an adrenaline charge, but nothing positive can result.

The President should have an attack dog hounding the DOJ instead of doing it himself.

Just letting Trump know, if he fires anybody the gopE will be on board for impeachment and removal from office.

It’s insane to allow this mueller farce to continue any longer. Only a president seeking removal from the job would let it go on

Somebody got to Grassley. The question is, who?

Nobody got to Grassley. He’s a beltway lifer in his 80’s who has been in the House and Senate since the 1970’s. I’m sure he’s deeply offended by “Drain the Swamp”.

Hopefully, after the midterms POTUS goes back to “Drain the Sewer.” It’s more than appropriate at this point.

So,if the FBI raided Grassley’s lawyer’s office it would cause Grassass to have confidence in Mueller?

Sure, that's how a coward would do it. but that ain't Trump.

What does that have to with Trump not challenging the bill or not firing Sessions etc?

Republicans are not standing up in support for their President who is the subject of a Witch Hunt.

This is PATHETIC!

He should go on a massive, relentless swamp creature firing spree immediately. He can get rid of countless thousands of them before the House and Senate act, and as that was his primary job, it’s a win even if they do impeach and remove him as a consequence.

And I think the very realistic chance of countervotes from rooftops in the case of impeachment makes it far less likely than the treason crowd wants us to believe.

No. His own party should be supporting him. I realize that may be a hard idea to swallow for some because it makes supporting their favorite pet beltway “conservatives” harder. The GOP, Senator Grassley included, is AWOL here.
