Divorce is hard, but it’s easier than cutting the brake lines on your wife’s car. It is long past time for an amicable divorce of the United States of America. There is simply no common ground with the Left anymore. We are now the couple screaming at each other all night, every night as the kids hide in their room.

We cannot come together, but we do not have to live like this. The history of the world is nations breaking up and redrawing their borders. If we want to avoid this political divide turning into a deadly one, we should do likewise.

During the Civil War, civilians on both sides were enormously hospitable to invading armies, especially the South. Plantations would provide food and respite from the grueling battlefields, all with southern hospitality.

There will not be war, these are not your GGGF Yankees. Secession does not mean war. States have a political system and a governor and whole states can separate in an orderly fashion.

If a city inside a newly independent state wants to fight it out that's their problem and not mine.

academia ( colleges and universities), public education, the media, and entertainment industries. If we don’t do something about that nexus of evil, the virus will grow and spread no matter how we might geographically partition the country.

We are. We are doing something...unplugging from it at a furious rate.

My wife homeschools our kids. No legacy media in the house...just Netflix and Youtube, and we screen it all. The kids read voraciously. We make sure they are well taught in the faith and put God above all else.

You would not know liberalism exists in this house, but for the way we teach our kids why he ideas behind it should be laughed at.

And there are millions around the country like us. Many of us fairly large families, by today's standards. Not sure whether we'll be enough to counteract everyone else, but we are all putting your plan into action, so take heart!

I’ll admit, the map is meaningless. It will have to be states sovereignly deciding to secede as free states, and can LATER form a confederation of states for a common purpose. That does not mean that they would have to form a single confederation of states. They might form 2, 3 or more, based on geographic contiguousness and political ideology.

State-by-state was tried, and it led to war. A really big war. Why do you think doing that a second time would not lead to war, but splitting states would?

I do think there are clear advantages to state secession, mostly that a government exists to take over once the Federal level is eliminated.

But: there is a huge downside. It fails in the main objective of removing tyrannical government off the backs of the people.

Let's say that all the states split out back into 50 independent States, I think you would still likely have civil war in states like Oregon. What Army will Oregon use to put down the Levoy Finicum Brigade when they close off access to Eastern Oregon?

The Oregon State Police have 406 sworn officers.

People in Burns are very tired of politicians in Portland telling them what to do, probably more tired of them then of the cretins in D.C.

I've had this odd idea; why not just abolish the Federal Government. Secession is messy and there is no clear process for it. A convention of the States (like Mark Levin is always talking about) could be used to pass a resolution dissolving the United States of America in its entirety.

2/3 of states to call the convention, 3/4 to pass the resolution. 2/3 of 50 is 33..3 Trump won 30 states.

3/4 of 50 is 37.5.

There isn't going to be any civil war. The powers that be, the globalist NWO cabal, control all but two of the levers of power and they will not allow anything as unpredictable as a civil war to occur.

They are doing very well sleepwalking us into their idea of utopia - and have been doing so for several generations now. Our fight is not with our poor, deluded, mis-educated, seduced countrymen - it is with our would-be oligarchic masters.

The division is not geographic. It spans families, marriages, & neighborhoods.

Any such split would necessitate a huge migration from each nation to the other. It makes no sense to have such a split without insisting that liberals leave the conservative nation & vice versa. This would have to MANDATORY, else the problems remain.

Essentially, the government in both countries would need to institute political tests, administered periodically, to ensure citizens didn’t change their political philosophy. If they don’t do this, in time the current divisions will reappear.

There is a problem with this: people change. Young people are often liberal, & ignorant. Will parents in a conservative nation be forced to exile their liberal children? Will liberals be forced to exile their conservative parents?

Then there is the problem of WHO determines the criteria for identifying & expelling those of a different persuasion. Right here at FR there are those who would shoot marijuana smokers, while others think it is tyranny to tell people what they may consume. Which is the conservative view? Hard to tell.

The only real, long lasting solution is to defeat liberalism, once & for all. We conservatives KNOW that liberalism leads to tyranny & ultimately national collapse; that decadence & perversion lead to demise; that borrowing from Peter to pay Paul is the route to ruin & that government is not your mommy & shouldn’t act like it.

The solutions are hard. We must get the government completely out of health, education, & welfare. We must drastically cut the federal government & its influence on the individual. We must remove education from the grip of the liberals & unions. We must use the tactics of Alinsky against liberalism: ridicule, shaming, boycotts, strikes, & demonstrations. We must ignore the MSM & Hollywood; shut them off & shut them out. These things the liberals have done successfully for years, bringing us to where we are now.

On the demographics of more than 95% of legal citizens being white European nominal Christians, on the public schools teaching from the Bible and a Christian hymnal as recommended by Thomas Jefferson, on the greatly slower pace of social change before the Industrial Revolution and telephonics, on the lack of national viral subersive media, on the lack of birth control and with that, the well-established social norms regarding a marked difference between the sexes and what were considered acceptable sex roles.

Draw a line down the Mississippi. Communists to the West, Americans to the East. Given everyone 10 years to make a choice and move.

That would throw Texas to the wolves. It will have to be a negotiated line. And yes, it would take some years for people to move where they preferred, like the Partition of India/Pakistan. I envision a Craig's List for house swappers.

I have been saying exactly this for years now. We have two tribes in this country and we are simply incompatible. It is much better that we just go our separate ways peacefully.

That's like asking the gay supremicists at the national synod meeting to agree to leave the traditional church and start their own. It's been going on for 25 years, but they won't go. Nothing but an overthrow of the traditional church will satisfy them.

I understand that Lincoln tried to reason with both factions before the Civil War, and if ever there was a compelling case for reasonable solutions, that was it. Instead, thousands died and yet the war has never really ended, as last year in Charlottesville and the BLM readily demonstrate. It's such a waste, because the Industrial Revolution and the cotton gin soon came along and would have ended chattel slavery economically. But you'd have to have been God to have foreseen that. And mechanization still wouldn't have solved the social problem.
