Russian U.N. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia said on Monday that Moscow has warned the United States of grave repercussions if it carries out an attack against Syrian government forces over reports of a deadly chemical weapons attack.
There was no chemical weapons attack, Nebenzia told the U.N. Security Council.
Through the relevant channels we already conveyed to the U.S. that armed force under mendacious pretext against Syria where, at the request of the legitimate government of a country, Russian troops have been deployed - could lead to grave repercussions, he said.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley told the council that Washington will respond to the attack on a rebel-held town in Syria regardless of whether the United Nations Security Council acts or not.

Was trying to use humor for the point that the Russians weren't 10ft tall when they were the Soviet Union and they're much, much shorter now.
Chemical weapons are used as a last resort, and SAA have the "moderate rebels" surrounded.
Any school kid can do the math and figure out who killed those civilians.
Have you been this stupid your whole life or does someone pay you to pretend to be an idiot here on FR and elsewhere?
Thanks. Nothing funnier than a Code Pink Republican throwing insults at me. I’m old enough to remember the Cold War “peace” movement. “Conservative” Putin poodles parrot them exactly and to my endless amusement. LOL.
Even threatening Russia based upon the content of Jihadist terrorist social media postings seems beyond reason, but that’s what happened today.
The Jaish al Islam terrorist group that claims Syria did this has used chlorine chemical weapons on Syrian Kurds.
We’re relying on them with this insanity.
Regular Russian military forces are embedded in virtually every Syrian military formation. Like we are embedded with the Afghans.
US weapons never go astray. Like the Patriot missile that struck Riyadh two weeks ago.
Yup.
The Russians though, who haven't been able to push a decision in Ukraine where they have a border or in Syria are threatening 'grave repercussions'.
That might have been scary back in bell bottom jeans days.
Well, you never know. We’ll see what happens, after the DIA, the FBI, the State Department and the CIA have a look at the issue being discussed here by Russians in regards to Russia, Syria, Iran and North Korea.
Remember?
Obama lie #543,987!
I think some of them are paid and stupid. And evil.
Nikki Haley was one of many young up in coming republucans corrupted by Romney.
Then you have never watched a lot of her speeches in the UN - she says what Trump wants her to say and in support of his policies...I don’t think she’s the “crackpot” who can be ignored here...
I’m near DC. Hopefully, I will be flash-fried, rather than slowly starving to death and puking from radiation sickness in the aftermath.
It actually makes more sense, by those numbers, to wait it out and let Russia get bogged down with the Moslem factions.
Go to Behold Israel ...yes I believe many civilians were killed by poison gas. Interesting amount of trolls on this thread.... they sound desperate.
The rebels, are so-called allies, have access to these weapons and they are the only group that benefits from this attack. Hmmm... I wonder.
Exactly. So far I don’t believe Assad is guilty. I believe he is being framed. Just like Saddam Hussein.
I just hope we can survive the next five years. Russia could get really frisky..
I hope we can survive the next five months. Because of the defeat of the USSR and the outing of Putin as a KGB agent, I suspect he’s operating from some sort of inferiority complex or insecurity, and if we start winning against him in Syria, his thin-skinned self might decide to widen operations rather than negotiate a peace, maybe with us in part of Syria and him in the other part. Then, the forecast could be partly mushroom-cloudy and very windy with firenados. The high will be 500 degrees, with a low of nuclear winter. Milk futures predicted to go to Strontium-90, while remaining iodine tablet manufacturers will see their stocks soar.
