The Bloomberg article implies it's Russia oriented, but they imply that about everything. And if so: why send it to New York State?
Is there some inherent illegality in giving money to ex-girlfriends? (Regardless of whether it's with or without Trump's knowledge?)

Remember that Clinton could easily have settled the Paula Jones lawsuit (by apologizing!) but refused, leading inevitably to his impeachment.
All Trump (or one of his advisors) has to do is review that case and it becomes obvious that they should have settled by now.
