U.S., North Korea in Secret, Direct Talks in Preparation for Summit

CNN is reporting that the United States and North Korea have been holding secret, direct talks in preparation for a summit meeting between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un.

CIA Director Mike Pompeo and a team of officials have been meeting with their North Korean counterparts to come up with a location for the meeting.

Although the North Korean regime has not publicly declared its invitation by Kim Jong Un to meet with Trump, which was conveyed last month by a South Korean envoy, several officials say North Korea has since acknowledged Trump's acceptance, and Pyongyang has reaffirmed Kim is willing to discuss the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

The North Koreans are pushing to have the meeting in their capital, Pyongyang, the sources said, although it is unclear whether the White House would be willing to hold the talks there. The Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar has also been raised as a possible location, the sources said.

The talks between intelligence officials are laying the groundwork for a meeting between Pompeo and his North Korea counterpart, the head of the Reconnaissance General Bureau, in advance of the leaders' summit. Once a location is agreed upon the officials said that the date will be set and the agenda discussed in greater detail.

Officials said the decision to use the already existing intelligence channel was more a facet of Pompeo's current status as CIA director as he awaits confirmation as secretary of state than a reflection of the content of the discussions.

It must rip the fairy-faced America-haters apart at CNN to have to publish this.

They had a ball with scaring people about nuclear war between Trump/kimjongun. The a$$holes at the doomsday clock pushed the hands almost to midnight. “ooooo, we’re gonna die!” (Actually, they pushed them almost to 12 noon.)

Trump’s method worked, and now the fat dictator just might talk, and might agree to eliminating nuclear weapons.

What can the left do now? How can they turn this into a negative? I don’t know, but they will sure try.

Well, secret talks would be only a maybe because it comes from CNN but is actually a given. Kim has muted his threats and bombast by nine tenths and that alone indicates that such talks are in progress. These are in rality not “preliminary” talks. They are the wheeling and dealing itself. The Great Summit will be to ratify and announce what is determined by the “preliminary” talks. The summit may even last an inordinate amount of time, more than three days, in order to save a little of Kim’s “face’” but the substance will already have been decided. Or, Kim could use the talks and summit as cover to pull some spectacular stunt to show the finger and maybe some destruction to America. Trump and the DoD know this and our response to such will be immediate and effective. Kim is most likely facing the end of his career and maybe life.

If Kim Jong Un is made to go to Seoul, then his entire entourage must go as well.

They would witness the huge disparity that a comparison of the two capitals represents.

They would see capitalism on full display. Supermarkets and stores full to overflowing with food and goods to market to everybody.

They would see the wealth that they are bin denied.

They would get a glimpse of the prosperity that their ‘leaders’ have promised for decades but never delivered.

They would get angry.........................
