Days after President Trump said he wanted to pull the United States out of Syria, Syrian forces hit a suburb of Damascus with bombs that rescue workers said unleashed toxic gas.
Within hours, images of dead families sprawled in their homes threatened to change Mr. Trumps calculus on Syria, possibly drawing him deeper into an intractable Middle Eastern war that he hoped to leave.
Many dead, including women and children, in mindless CHEMICAL attack in Syria, Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter on Sunday. He blamed Iran and Russia even singling out President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia by name for their support of the Syrian government.

...Syrian forces hit a suburb of Damascus with bombs that rescue workers said unleashed toxic gas...
This explanation makes more sense then Assad deliberately launching a chemical attack when he’s almost won the battle. Same holds true for last “chemical attack”.
Last month Russian media said US backed rebels were preparing a chemical attack in Syria.
With Russia saying that Syrian forces thought they had the cover to do it.
It’s not working, except with false flag conspiracy theorists who must by default think Trump is uninformed, ignorant and stupid. He would have to be to say what he did if the gas attack is actually a false flag.
This has seemed kind of odd to me since Trump announced we’d be pulling out of Syria. Trump made a strong point of how he would never telegraph our moves like Obozo, I’m not convinced there isn’t more to the story.
Hummm, the wording does not specifically say that the "toxic gas" was contained IN the bombs, just that it was "unleashed".
Did the "leashed" "toxic gas" just happen to be sitting in the Rebel's buildings by coincidence before the bomb were dropped?
This sure beats the heck outa me.
Oh I think you are right on target. Makes more sense than Assad committing suicide when he’s almost won the battle. Twice now.
This is all a staged farce, as was the last alleged chemical attack by Assad. How convenient, when the Syrian “opposition forces”, themselves bad players chock full of Muzzie terrorists, are on the ropes, that they bring out the old saw of a chemical attack to gain the world’s attention in their attempt to overthrow Assad, who is on the verge of victory in one of the final, if not the final holdout rebel cities.
And the fools in the western block all swallow this whole, with absolutely no proof that Russian backed Assad had anything to do with this chemical attack. Those chemicals could just as easily been strategically stockpiled by the rebel forces to explode upon bombing by gov’t forces, unleashing gasses so that rebels could use this as a propaganda tool against Assad. There are no angels here.
Same with Putin being blamed on flimsy proof at best in the attack on the Russian spy agent in the U.K. No real proof Putin was behind that attack, but blame him anyway. No proof of Russian collusion in the attack on the DNC head quarters or of meddling in any major way in our 2016 elections, but blame Putin anyway.
Hence the Dems have succeeded, along with help from some cold war mentality warriors that still permeate our gov’t on the Pub side, in starting up a new cold war where Prez Trump had such high hopes of reaching detente with Putin and having better relations with a still super power status country co-existing on our globe. In their amoral desire to gain political advantage against Trump, the Dems have reignited a new Cold War, with help from the likes of John McCain and other venal players with ulterior political motives of their own. Or those older politicians still locked into a permanent cold war strategy who can’t think outside the box and will continue to see Russia as the forever enemy.
Trump’s gut instinct to seek better relations with Putin/Russia is 100 percent right, but has been destroyed and trashed as a rational policy by lying Dems and mind locked old cold warriors incapable of seeing another way of dealing with Russia other than the way they were politically raised during the real cold war of the past.
If I were Putin, I’d be super PO’d with how the pendulum is swinging here, as I truly believe he too was seeking better relations with the U.S. after Trump won the Presidential Election. All those hopes for cooperation between our countries are now dashed.
Funny how those chemical gas attacks in Syria have supposedly affected primarily only the “women and children.” How is it these gases haven’t bumped off hundreds of male rebel fighters in Syria; we just see pictures of these rebel fighters running around carrying children to makeshift hospitals on video. How is it those male fighters themselves are still able to run into those allegedly gassed areas without croaking or being affected themselves, hmmmm?
Why only pics of women and children being affected? Have your heartstrings been pulled sufficiently while seeing these so obviously staged videos? If people think these rebel troops fighting Assad are pure as the driven snow, then you folks are incredibly gullible.
Just put on your thinking caps for one moment, and ask what would Putin have to gain by having the Russian double agents bumped off in the U.K. at such a politically disadvantageous time when seeking better relations with the western world?
Why would a chemical attack be launched by Assad w/Putin’s backing, when they are on the verge of final victory against the rebels in attacking their last stronghold suburb outside the city of Damascus. Why would they choose to use chemical weapons when they were winning without them, hmmmm? Maybe because of staged actions by the rebels to turn western world opinion against them and slow down or stop or win propaganda points against Putin/Assad at a vital point in the Syrian war when the rebels are about to lose it all. Think folks, think about this and use logic, not emotion when forming your opinions.
Putin sanctioned the gas attack so dupes in the West will turn to conspiracy theories against their leaders while his supporters in Russia and boot lickers elsewhere rally around him.
Jeez, who should we be killing in Syria....can’t tell the players without a scorecard. Anyone got a scorecard?
Putin is going to risk everything in Syria, his puppet Assad, his gas and oil pipeline, his long-desired warm water port, to...make a few crack pots upset with Trump? Encourage a few folks to make embarrassing false flag posts on Facebook?
That dog don’t hunt.
Risk everything?
This has already happened and what did he lose?
A few crackpots you say?
Come back to me if you get serious.
Yes, logic is in short supply in the Western reaction and the media has been whipping the hysterical must attack immediately emotionalism. The neocons and John McCain are trying to run us into another intervention, just as Trump wanted to withdraw.
“Oh man I gambled once and won some money, surely I’ll win every time I gamble in perpetuity.”
Are you retarded, Kraut?
HOW CONVENIENT — on McMaster’s last day, after Trump signals a pullout, for all these ‘dead families’ with identical Vaseline splotches under their noses to hit the airwaves...coupled with angry tweets from Evan McMuffin and Ho Chi McCain?
No but from your drivel of a response your mother must be.
This is the militia that was holding Douma ( site where it was immediately reported that Assad gassed women and children)
Btw the alQaeda backed JAI militia , the last holdouts in Ghouta, had agreed to surrender terms until it started infighting among itself. Killing its own leaders. Yesterday the group accepted terms - the Assad-Russian evacuation of 8,000 fighters and their families to safe haven is in progress.
But we are supposed to believe Assad gassed this group and then 2 days later put them on luxury busses to northern Syria
Post of the decade
