A military airport in Syria has come under missile attack, the country's state media has reported.
Its air defence system was activated, the reports said.
Syrian TV said loud explosions had been heard near the T4 airfield in the city of Homs in the early hours of Monday.
Details are still emerging and the reports have not been independently verified.

Syrian state-owned media is claiming that Syrian air-defenses intercepted eight missiles that were targeting T4 airbase.

From Twitter (search Syria), then go out to the linked news pages, such as BBC and others. Also had RSBN.tv on for a bit they were trying to live-blog info. Turned that off when it became a bit irritating. Lots of speculation. None of the videos are conclusive and the audio such that I couldn’t say missile, rocket, or jet engine. Definitely not prop, though. Anyway, splitting my time between work and listen/catching glances at things.
And of course we knew...and I believe we had some of our RC-135 assets involved. There are some twitter posts of some EAM's being broadcast right at that time. We might not have shot the hardware...but we offered support.

(CNN)The Pentagon has denied Syrian claims the US attacked a Homs air base Sunday, hours after President Donald Trump tweeted “Animal Assad” would have a “big price to pay” for an alleged chemical weapons attack.
Syrian State TV said the T-4 airbase in Homs, in the country’s west, had been hit by “several missiles” in a “likely attack by the US,” early Monday morning local time.
Just shows how easily this sh*t could get out of control.

worse would be NO regime at all in Syria, which would be the case if there was suddenly no Assad, and then we would have yet another failed country in which ISIS and other insane murderous groups could rebuild and thrive and launch terrorist attacks on the West ... FAR better for Assad to keep the lid on than the failed country scenario ...

Says the Israelis hit this base to avenge losing an F-16 which was decoyed on the Syrian border by an Iranian drone operated out of this base. Says some drones were taken out along with repair area. Casualties SAA and Iranian, no mention of Russians
