Syracuse TV anchor Michael Benny has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding a script he read on CNY Central for station owner Sinclair Broadcast Group.
Benny and Allison Bybee appear in a video compilation showing TV anchors at Sinclair-owned stations across the country in a promo echoing President Donald Trump's constant attacks on "fake news" media. Critics say it reflects the company's right-wing agenda without disclosing a political bias.... For days, CNY Central declined to comment, but Benny finally spoke out in a lengthy Facebook post on Wednesday night.
"Recently, my boss came to me with a script for a promotional video the company that operates my station wanted me to be part of," he wrote. "I was never threatened with a consequence for refusing to participate in recording it. In fact, I was offered the opportunity to speak with executives at the highest level in the company, had I chosen to."
"The heart of the message is about a commitment to facts and fairness. I believe in the heart of the message. I lived it every day prior to the conception of the promotion at the corporate level. I can't imagine ever not living it. "

'Could have been a actor, but I wind up here'...'give me dirty laundry'
Would love to see antritrust actions imposed on Comcast and Disney. These two derelict companies are pissing in your shoes.
I suspect that there is much more to this attack on Sinclair Broadcasting.
It could go back to an expose’ on John Kerry in the early 2000’s that had been planned but was attacked by the hardcore left with lawsuits that prevented it come being shown. nationally.
There might be some very interesting depositions sitting around that the Left doesn’t want anyone to see.
Just sayin’.
