National Review, as you may recall, defined NeverTrumpism in the 2016 Republican primaries with a special issue titled Against Trump, rounding up articles from a variety of intellectuals across all major factions of the Right. That issue, you may recall, was compiled by Lowry.
It’s hard to believe him, because he supported Ryan for Speaker and Carly Fiorina against Trump.
I wouldnt believe a single word and certainly not a complete sentence uttered by this duplicitous creature. Never invite a snake into your tent!
Very stupid article if you read it.
Lowry likes Log Cabins.
I can say that, even though I’ve never met the man, I can’t stand him. Him, being Lowry. He’s the moron at your local Chamber of Commerce, owns the only State Farm office in town, probably a slum-lord, but yucks it up at the parades and is part of the local Republican Party. Clowns like him are what has ruined the Republican Party because they’re, actually greedy sc*mbags, that would sell out to China in a flash, if it filled their wallet, all while waiving the flag.
I digress....
The Right has always been a broad ideological coalition, and any president is going to lean toward one part of that coalition at the expense of others,
This brings up a point, that I think is very important, especially now. Especially with the Dem’s having won a few local races that they shouldn’t have. Won a Senate race in the Reddest State in the country. Won in Pennsylvania in a district that the President carried by 20pts.
Take 100 issues that the candidates are running on. #1 being the most serious, pressing one..Taxes, for example. #100 being the most ridiculous ... an individuals right to marry a pine tree.
A Dem voter can disagree with 99 issues, out of the 100, but if that candidate believes that someone should be allowed to marry a pine tree, then that candidate gets a vote.
If a Republican voter AGREEs with 99 issues out of 100, but that candidate doens’t show up to rally’s with an AR slung across his chest, then there’s a chance that voter is staying home.
The Dem’s prove that they’ll take a beating every once in a while, only to be slowly chipping away and staying true to their cause. They play the long game. Republican’s, not so much. That’s not to say that we should ever sell out to guys like Rubio, Graham, Bush, Kasich, etc, at all or at any time. We should be pushing those types out of the party, once and for all. Let them either go away or switch to the Dem’s which they’re more like, anyway.
Dangerous times, we’re in. If the Right and the Republican’s were united behind this President, Mueller and the rest would be gone, hopefully on their way to prison, China and Mexico would be kissing our ass, obamacare would be gone, and this country just might get back on track.
The self styled right in the GOPE media (or “Movement Conservatives” as this astroturf likes to call themselves) have always been a closet full of failed High School student government types writing bombastic irrelevant nonsense back and forth to each other. If it were not for the money the GOP-E pumps out to fund their websites and publications, they would of disappeared into bankruptcy 2 decades ago.
The author is not a “conservative” or “on the Right”, he is a Bushite.
Trump in most ways, is a rejection of the corruption of the GOP agenda fostered by 30 years of the Bush family domination of the GOP
I wouldn’t want chipmunk cheeks in my corner anyway. You don’t change once you’ve tried to discredit the President!!
and, oh look, the recidivists at NR are STILL are still publishing anti-Trump tripe: "Conservative Criticism of Trump Is Not Deluded":
https://www.nationalreview.com/2018/04/conservative-criticism-donald-trump-can-be-valid/
And none of us should EVER forget this:
Two of them at NR, Goldberg and another one, got all defensive and butt-hurt over Lowrys article.
They’re “principled”, ya know
Lowry gave up trying to destroy Trump from the outside and is now trying to weasel his way to the inside to destroy him from within.
It would take an absolute fool to trust Lowry or his conversion.
I just listened to a former NeverTrumper on Chicago radio this morning and he ranted against Trumps lack of fact sourcing when saying massive numbers of rapes were occurring with illegals coming here (Dan Proft). A caller a while later provided the source, which was something like Amnesty International. That simply made the host rant that Trump could be more credible with everyone if he took the time to detail where he gets his wild ideas from. He then went on to say Ted Cruz does that and Trump should be much more like Cruz.
Makes me vomit. Do you dang homework and see for yourself the sources Trump uses. Idiots, all.
