I would not have a hard time believing it. I do not go out of my way to notice such things, but is impossible not to see what I see in grocery stores, Costco, etc.
People in The South have had experience with mixed race marriages from waaaay before the Civil War. It’s not a big deal and never has been.
Even when the KKK was at its peak of power they had better things to do...........................
