At least 10 South Florida cities are planning to sue Gov. Rick Scott and other state officials to invalidate penalties against elected officials who try to enact local gun laws. Currently, elected officials who pass gun laws can be removed from office by the governor, fined up to $5,000 and can be personally sued.

IIRC, the 1987 Florida concealed carry law basically rationalized the whole system concerning the issuance of such permits as some areas were very strict on such a thing compared to others. Most likely anti gun politicians down there probably would want to see a return to that time in their specific locales.
Who is going to sue over having to be 21 to buy a long gun?
I think any law that restricts a civil right should be a felony for the lawmaker(s).
Counties and cities can only do what their state constitution and statutes allow them to do.
You dont want to go in some of those areas without a weapon!
Yep, depriving a person of their civil rights is a serious crime.
I was a council member in a small Florida town a few years back. I wanted to introduce an ordinance requiring every household to keep a firearm, like in Kennesaw Georgia. Couldn’t do it. The State of Florida reserves all legislation on firearms to the state. No subordinate jurisdiction may enact any law on firearms, pro or con.
This crap is only the back door to placing an issue on the table of a liberal robed judge. jusgy po will give-em all they want.
States, counties, cities, and townships will intimidate you with all they have, if you do not comply with their perception of what the Law is.
