I know that 3 of the kids were found in the SUV, but they weren’t sure about the other 3 and were considering them missing - this was as of Thursday.
The kids were all older than what I originally was thinking when I first heard about this - the three who died in the SUV were Markis, 19, Jeremiah, 14, and Abigail, 14. The three ‘missing’ are Devonte, 15, Hannah, 16, and Sierra, 12

Andrew McCarthy made the case for exactly what Sessions is doing in an article in early March. The way he lays it out, it makes a lot of sense .... no out-of-control special prosecutor ranging far afield, blowing millions, having to hire a team & get up to speed, then feeling like they have to get somebody on something to justify the appointment.

Clearly, there needs to be an investigation. Goodlatte and Gowdy are entirely right about that. Regardless of whether there is a solid basis for a criminal investigation, the Justice Department is always responsible for ensuring the integrity and lawfulness of its own operations — it must investigate credible allegations of misconduct by its component agencies, including the FBI. Goodlatte and Gowdy are also right to suggest (as I believe they have) that the contemplated investigation should scrutinize the handling of the Clinton-emails probe — how it comported, or failed to, with Justice Department practices and policies. The chairmen are right yet again that the jurisdictional limitations on Michael Horowitz, the Justice Department’s very able inspector general, make it impossible for him to conduct the investigation that is needed.
Neither, however, should that investigation be conducted by a special counsel.
The special counsel is a pernicious institution that operates outside the procedures and discipline of a normal U.S. attorney’s office — where the merits of every case must be weighed against those of every other in the competition for limited investigative and prosecutorial resources. Special-counsel appointments should be resisted whenever possible. Indeed, with Robert Mueller already — and inevitably — straying far afield from his original “collusion” inquiry, we should be discussing how that investigation can be limited and brought to a just conclusion; we should not be encouraging the launch of yet another special-counsel extravaganza. Never again should a special-counsel investigation be commenced in the absence of concrete evidence that a crime has been committed — a crime that serves to cabin the special counsel’s investigation lest it become a fishing expedition without end.
Here is what should be done. Attorney General Sessions should assign a U.S. attorney from outside Washington to conduct a probe of how the Clinton-emails and Trump-Russia investigations were handled by the Justice Department and FBI.
Under my proposal, the designated U.S. attorney would handle this investigation along with the rest of the work of his or her office — this would not be a prosecutor whose only assignment is to pursue a single target or set of targets, and who thus faces great pressure to file charges, no matter how far afield from the original focus of the investigation, in order to justify the appointment. Unlike the inspector general, the U.S. attorney would have full jurisdiction to convene a grand jury; investigate any crimes attendant to the Clinton-emails and Trump-Russia probes; issue subpoenas and seek other court process (such as search warrants) to secure evidence; and prosecute any violations of law by persons inside or outside of government.

Taking a drag from her cigarette, a Mexican immigration agent looked out toward a caravan of migrants that grew larger with each step they took on the two-lane highway.
When the agent, who’d covered her uniform with an orange and white shawl, learned that the Central Americans migrants heading her way numbered more than 1,000, she took off for the restaurant across the street.
“I’m going to have a relaxing Coke,” she told BuzzFeed News.
For five days now hundreds of Central Americans — children, women and men, most of them from Honduras — have boldly crossed immigration check points, military bases, and police in a desperate, sometimes chaotic march toward the United States. Despite being in Mexico without authorization, no one has made any effort to stop them.
Organized by a group of volunteers called Pueblos Sin Fronteras, or People Without Borders, the caravan is intended to help migrants safely reach the United States, not only bypassing authorities who would seek to deport them, but gangs and cartels who are known to assault vulnerable migrants.
Organizers like Rodrigo Abeja hope that the sheer size of the crowd will give immigration authorities and criminals pause before trying to stop them.
“If we all protect each other we’ll get through this together,” Abeja yelled through a loudspeaker on the morning they left Tapachula, on Mexico’s border with Guatemala, for the nearly monthlong trek.
When they get to the US, they hope American authorities will grant them asylum or, for some, be absent when they attempt to cross the border illegally. More likely is that it will set up an enormous challenge to the Trump administration’s immigration policies and its ability to deal with an organized group of migrants numbering in the hundreds.

Initial reports from Reddit that Hogg was not at the school but raced toward the shooting have been retracted as inaccurate by the Reddit author. Has his California history been squared with his Parkland history ? Seemingly legitimate claims of a California high school graduation in 2015...real or fake ?

I worked at the DIA, for goodness sakes. I was in charge of the highly classified computer room databases—where everything HAS to be stored (back in those days (1980s). We had a lot of very interesting projects and missions stored and manipulated, but nothing about killing, experimenting or spraying fellow citizens.
And don’t say, “Oh, yeah, well they wouldn’t store THAT information there...” Because such an effort would take a huge amount of resources and government work—which ALWAYS has massive amounts of paperwork written and signed by every echelon of the chain-of-command and then all of that is put into the databases.
Such mundane things as “Can we deploy the First Fighter Wing right now due to an attack in the Middle East?”
We NEVER got back the answer: “No, they’re busy spraying bacilli on Kansas right now.” Find another Air Wing!”
Think about it and rest assured that something like that isn’t doable without leaking from a thousand different soldiers, sailors, airman and marines, as well as civilian government workers, who might not want their loved ones poisoned/infected!

No. Sessions is using Huber in conjunction with the IG. As long as that arrangement works as McCarthy thinks it could (he wrote this piece before Huber became public knowledge), there should be no need for one.
But, it probably takes a while to get comfortable being the TV show host 5 nights a week instead of a visitor in short segments.

She is an extreme talent....as sharp of mind as any conservative on radio, TV, or politics, and totally in-tune with the values of the current administration.
