Parkland Student Doesn’t Understand How the Constitution Works

Parkland shooting survivor Cameron Kasky ignited Twitter this week with what appeared to be an inaccurate claim regarding the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

In the wake of last month’s Parkland school shooting that left 17 people dead, Kasky and some of his classmates have emerged as vocal proponents of stricter gun control measures.

As part of that push for more gun control, Kasky tweeted Tuesday that the “second amendment has no restrictions,” a claim that was quickly debunked on Twitter and elsewhere.

Civics isn't taught anymore in the government schools. Hasn't been for decades. It's all about the environment, social justice , diversity and other assorted Marxist/progressive bs.

What the left are trying to do is declare the second amendment as the sole giver of our rights to self defense- The second amendment is NOT the giver of this right- God is! We have an inalienable right to defend ourselves with the most effective means possible- The second amendment simply declares that we have this inalienable right and that noone can take that right away from us

This right was also affirmed as a means to protect us against rogue governments- governments for example that wish to deny us the right to defend ourselves

”…that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. that to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men”

The whole purpose of the constitution is to LIMIT GOVERNMENT, and to ensure that government does not become a tyrannical overlord. The government’s role is to PROTECT out inalienable rights- not subvert and oppress these rights.

When a government fails to protect our inalienable rights, we the people have the right, a duty to our fellow citizens infact, to abolish said government and start over with a new government that WILL protect our inalienable rights- The government is BY THE PEOPLE, for the people- it is NOT By the government for the government. The government works for we the people- and we the people have an inalienable right to defend ourselves against ALL enemies- domestic and foreign- against all actors hostile to our inalienable rights

Also relevant is that the 10th Amendment is absolute when there is no delegated power given the federal for any rule or regulation: all current federal gun control laws are not lawful anywhere within the Juristiction of a State as no delegated power is given the federal to regulate the possession of Arms except to require their ownership and proficiency under the auspices of supporting the calling out and training of the Militia (this Power is covered by the relevant clause of A1:S8).

10th Amendment

Powers not delegated to the fedalare reserved to the several States or the people.

We need a 2-pronged approach to attack. 1-prong leaves us little room for anything besides defense. We need to take down progressivism at the federal level HARD.

Sadly, only about one in 500 HS students today has a decent grasp of civics and history. (And that one was probably homeschooled.)

Get to the college level and it is about one in 100, at best.

Not a problem.

They don’t teach the Kids anything these days. I gave up asking years ago of Kids “what do You Learn in History Class? “

The reply was “We don’t have History, we have Social Sciences and we learn how White Man oppressed the American Indian and Nuked Japan to START WWII”

IT MAKES ME WANT TO SCREAM!
