Fox News host Laura Ingraham apologized Thursday after she posted a critical tweet about a Parkland, Fla. high school student.
"Any student should be proud of a 4.2 GPA —incl. @DavidHogg111. On reflection, in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland," Ingraham tweeted.
"For the record, I believe my show was the first to feature David immediately after that horrific shooting and even noted how "poised" he was given the tragedy. As always, he’s welcome to return to the show anytime for a productive discussion."
The apology comes after Ingraham faced backlash after she posted a tweet critical of Parkland student, David Hogg, who has become a vocal advocate for gun control since the mass shooting last month at his high school.
Ingraham on Wednesday shared a Daily Wire story that reported Hogg was rejected from four colleges. “David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it. (Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA...totally predictable given acceptance rates,)” Ingraham tweeted.
Hog replied a few hours later, asking who the Fox News host's biggest advertisers were in a tweet.
He later tweeted out a list of Ingraham's advertisers, directing people to contact those companies.
Online travel website TripAdvisor and Rachael Ray's pet food brand Nutrish have since said they would stop advertising on Ingraham's show.

IIRC, his name was Jimmy, and was in the beer distribution business. He “couldn’t handle it” when she got breast cancer so dumped her. HE would’ve been a bad choice in that “sickness and health” thing.
Last week I saw something about her and her dogs. One is named Jimmy I think.
In the meantime we have one less Senate vote in an all too close Senate as it is.
That said I appreciate the honest replies of so many fellow freepers... not easy for me to defend anyone with's Hogg's beliefs - so it's not personal. (Also, as some of you have guessed, I could also be wrong on this issue).
Here's my logic on why Laura should not have mocked him:
Let's say some some woman goes on stage, sings like a cat having it's tail pulled, and most people walk out of the theater vomiting... The next day Laura and the local newspaper mocks the woman. Guns blazing, words being spit out to rival the disaster the night before... Fine. Good for Laura good for the press. It's a free country - tell the truth. The woman put herself out there in the public - and we have the right to mock her, laugh at her, condemn her performance - whatever.
Totally fair.
Now, it's a day later - the person on the stage is a 6 year old girl and her kindergarten classmates. She had a cold the night before and in the locally broadcast performance, she sings like a cat having it's tail pulled...
Do you treat these two cases differently based on the ages and 'awareness' of the people involved? YES. That's my take. I don't think Hogg can be a ‘public figure’ in the same way his father would be if he said the same things.Freepers can mock Hogg because in one sense he's our equal but not Laura... she's held to a higher standard.
