Messr Hogg got a 1400+ SAT and the State avg in FLA is 1428.

Not.
Hogg is certainly not stupid but that's pretty high.
I went to a prep school in Pittsburgh back in the early 60's, and one fine fellow in our senior class scored a perfect 1600 on the test.
And ........ he was actually a cool, really good looking guy who appreciated the ladies.
____
I found out years later that he went to a fine university, took all the right courses to be a "star of society".
Well ....... it turns out he moved off to Nebraska and became a very highly respected and happy chicken farmer.
What a guy!! LOL.

I believe they score the SATs differently now. When I was in high school there were two test sections — each one with a maximum score of 800. I think there is now a third section — so the maximum score is 2400, not 1600.

Back in the late 60's, I met two or three drunks living on the streets with the rest of us hippies that had college engineering degrees and had gravitated towards our social structure and philosophy (no, I didn't talk like that back then, but it IS what was goin' down).
GREAT and intelligent conversationalists that had just said, "Screw it" and followed the Leary Law.
Turn on, tune in, drop out.
A lot did.
