Why, in their own words, CIA professionals love Gina Haspel
washington examiner ^ | Tom Rogan

Speaking to the Washington Examiner, three former career CIA professionals explained why they energetically endorse President Trump's pick to become the next director of the CIA, Gina Haspel.

First up is Mark Kelton, a career CIA operations officer who retired from the agency in 2015. Kelton says he first met Haspel while working on Russia. She came across as a "tremendous professional," Kelton says, "very, very capable and of the highest integrity."

But what truly sets Haspel apart, Kelton says, is that she is "deeply steeped in the craft of intelligence. Very, very adept at working the intelligence bureaucracy." Because of the "multitude of challenges" now facing the nation, Kelton argues that "it’s important that someone with her background — someone with an operational background — is leading the CIA."

When I asked Kelton whether Haspel has the confidence to order officers to take risks, something that some critics of the agency say its directors are sometimes too reluctant to do, he responded with an interesting counterpoint. "The key question about [success in leadership at] CIA is not whether you’re a risk-taker but whether you can manage risk effectively. And that takes strategic and tactical awareness, and Gina has both."

From the reactions of the pantywaist codell-the-terrorists crowd, she’s obviously a great choice. Go Gina!

Of course, it is what our parents tried to teach us when we were kids to discourage us from telling lies.

Accompanied by the belt, of course!

.......the article, near the end, starts talking about how “Gina” is good for the CIA because she brings “Diversity” to the agency.

This is the same kind of PCBS mentality that is pervasive in every federal agency and that is sooooo wrong.

The CIA needs the smartest, toughest, most patriotic person available. “Diversity” should not even be a consideration.

However, in many of the third world countries, once you have lied, you are always a liar, no matter what.
What does third world countries have to do with anything?

I don't care what country you're from, once you know someone lied/lies to you, you never again know when they're not lying

Most first world countries, the person you are talking to can, in some cases, look past why you lied and accept whatever reasoning you use; i.e. I was protecting you, what you don’t know cannot hurt you, whatever.

In the third world countries I have worked in, they would not mentally accept any of those reasons or excuses.

You are correct, they do reference themselves as “officers” now.

Of course, that also depends on who is looking at them.

Justin’s liberal fascist government is now passing draconian liberal laws on gun control, and on jury selections ( no peremptory challenges based on a potential jurors race or ethnicity) among others.

Canada detests the idiot. And Canada also detests those who voted for him, those who will admit it. The Trump populist movement has made it into Canada ( one hopes!).

Thank you, I am very pleased.
