Is open carry even legal in Texas?
There needs to be better communication between police and people. Something is wrong.
Not the right way to be an attention whore.
Both the officer and victim are black.

Surprised they even covered it, this story is not very useful to the narrative.
Ok, seems his family knew he was having real problems. Where the fuch were they? What the hell was his family doing for him? They only care after something bad happens?
Cripes. Some family.
The perp was seen walking with pants down and what appeared to be a night stick hanging down below his waist...
The cop should not expect a rational response from a clearly irrational person walking through traffic with his pants down.
Reminds me of the movie “Crash.”
“He was clearly walking, not running, toward the deputy not trying to hurt or harm him.”

He was also clearly disobeying repeated commands to lay down on the ground.
Whiteys fault.
If this story is true, it is simply too sad to comment.
Bath salts, PCP, meth involved?
The guy had had a physical altercation with the driver of a car he had hit, I’m assuming with his hand or hands. The article said the officer stopped because of it. He refused repeatedly to comply with the officer’s orders, and continued on toward the officer. Who knows how he would have reacted to a taser. I’ll leave it to the department to decide the officer’s fate, but the family saying it was “premeditated murder” is B.S.
So he had his pants down as a friendly gesture?
Let’s see if this shooting passes my personal litmus test.
Say one of our soldiers, serving in a war zone (Iraq lets say), finds an incoherent unarmed Iraqi, pants around the ankles, middle of an intersection, messing with cars going by. By our current ROE, can he shoot him?
Why oh why, are the current police ROE less than those of our men and women serving in theatres of war? Police officers deal with American citizens, military deals with potential enemy combatants. Shouldn’t our police officers be held to a tighter ROE than our military, especially considering they are dealing with American citizens?
Suicide by cop.
Why was the officer walking with his pants down?

Riots at Six
I also gotta wonder why he didnt use the taser first.
Its certainly not premeditated murder but its possible manslaughter. Its obvious the officer was in fear of his life and, that alone, falls back upon whos doing the hiring and training of the police in Houston. Whoever is doing the job is doing it poorly.
hand up, don’t’ shoot
pants down, don’t shoot
Wait, what
