On Sunday night, Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) shared one of the worst kept secrets of the Democrats: Hillary Clinton is a drag on the party. In a television interview, the embattled senator unloaded on the former first lady for dissing Donald Trump’s base and dumping on America’s hinterlands. As McCaskill said, “For those of us that are in states that Trump won, we would really appreciate if she would be more careful and show respect to every American voter and not just the ones who voted for her.” Ouch.
McCaskill is guilty of nothing but telling the truth. So long as Clinton continues to publicly nurse her grievances over the 2016 election, the Democratic Party’s task of recapturing the House and Senate is made that much more difficult. It is one thing to finesse a message that can appeal to high-end suburban moms without offending white working-class voters. It is a whole other thing to do so under the shroud of Clinton’s audible shadow.
From looks of things, duking it out with Trump is better left to Joe Biden. For the Democrats, a vanishing Clinton allows them to break with the turbulence that marked the Clinton years, their aftermath, and Trump’s win. The question is whether Clinton will give the Democrats the breathing room they need. If past is prelude, don’t bet on it.

Well Gee, Sen. McCaskill, thanks much but I have to ask - where the hell was all this civility prior to the election? You know, when ole’ Felonia Von Pantsuit was calling half the country “Irredeemable” and “Deplorable”?
Why didn’t you say anything then? Where was the much vaunted “No Labels” gang then? Where were the impassioned pleas for Civility and Tolerance and the rest of it then? Funny, I didn’t hear a peep out of anybody.
It’s almost as if the Democratic Party is lying.
Is it safe to bet that “You Can Keep Your Guns” is pretty much the same deal as “You Can Keep Your Doctor?” You get one guess.

Notice how she qualified her statement with “...Respect for every American voter.”
People who don’t vote can be safely dispensed with, right Claire? Seriously, it just sounds bad to my ears. And it’s probably a carefully researched term of art. In today’s America, even the word “American” hath been shewn to be offensive, I expect. “Voters” is sufficiently vague to include illegal aliens, various & sundry illegal aliens, imported jihadists or otherwise illiterate in their own country unemployables that make up a non-trivial proportion of the Democrat base.
They have really screwed the pooch. I’m old enough to remember when Democrats were still arguably my countrymen, but the past, as they say, is a different country. My prediction is that when, because of or in spite of their best efforts notwithstanding to the contrary, that the American people actually manage to elect a veto proof majority in congress and hold the presidency that we’ll finally get to see the emergency, break glass, in case of “Plan B” in action, front and center. They simply will not relinquish control of the reins of power, nothing must be allowed to upset the timeline to destruction. So watch out boys and girls. Stay safe and keep yer head on a swivel. Pray.
