Five billion... well, that’s nothing compared to the cost of the bullet-train-to-nowhere. And I thought California was broke? Is all this money being raised privately?

A $5 billion stadium just when NFL attendance and revenues are in a nosedive! Great stuff!

Wow so the NFL is consolidating it’s facilities because the NFL now realizes it can’t survive on 2 NFL teams alone. How

I see they have to have a 3 in 1 in deal to keep it afloat.

How pathetic it cannot survive on it’s own.

Problem is that when Looniefornia goes down, which is inevitable, it will come to all federal taxpayers to bail it out.

The idiot Congress will acquiesce.

From a Forbes article: The one piece of good news here is that the Hollywood Park venue is being privately funded. Taxpayers are not being asked to throw down on what is now going to be the most expensive project in the history of North American sports.

Essentially, this is a real estate project that just so happens to include an NFL stadium. Hence, the ridiculously high cost to erect. We’re looking at 900,000 square feet of retail space, 800,000 square feet of office space and 2,500 new residential units. Yeah, it’s a monster of a site.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/vincentfrank/2018/03/27/new-los-angeles-rams-stadium-project-now-expected-to-cost-5-billion-to-build/amp/

Won’t be taxpayer funded and includes much more than just a stadium.

What is being overlooked in all of this also is LA is not really a strong sports town with loyal dedicated fans.

There is no comparison of LA fans (for the record I am from LA and lived there until I was 39). LA fans do not have the long term loyalty like the fans in: Chicago, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, New England and others. Instead the LA teams will sell out when they win, then be at 65% capacity during the lean years.

Why have so many teams fled LA (or Southern Cal)? Rams (twice), Oakland, Chargers (they started in LA) and Angels (from LA to Anaheim).

Had this been done 25 years ago things would be different and the main people to blame is the horrible LA Coliseum Commission.

Maybe in the off-season they can use it for a sunny, homeless camp.

$5B for a stadium in a town now populated with Hispanics on the dole who can’t afford the tickets, but not a dime for border security?

California logic

Gotta have a stadium if you’re gonna give ‘em “BREAD & CIRCUSES.”
